the only thing i miss in sampler is a way to do kontakt like scripting, (maybe with max integration?), so i can ditch kontakt for live sampler completely.

Definitely Kontakt. The included library is really good, and there are tons of top-notch libraries out there now with every imaginable sound. In Kontakt it's so easy to build complex setups and layers. Couple that with the scripting function, you can just bypass Lives midi processing with something ...

I need some advice on a future hardware purchase(s). My goal is to do some live ambient/electronica with synced visuals. I will be using Live with mostly Kontakt 3 including it's fx, with only a couple external plugs, and syncing that with Arkaos for visuals. My songs are usually not more than 8 ...

Do one thing and do it right. Allow Pluggo/Max whatever to create Live compatable, and I mean standard interface in the rack, midi, instrument, audio and video/visual plugins that are transparent to the Live system, i.e. integrate into racks etc.. with a standard Live interface builder.

I really like Kontakt 3, yet I feel drawn to Live's sampler as a streamlined playflow. Has anyone pursued this path? I know I'm giving up "some" power. Most of what I would miss is the midi scripting.

What I wouldn't miss are the incompatable non-editable sample libraries. I would love to convert ...

if only we could drop midi generating, modifying pluggos into the midi fx slots in live...

Flexable midi routing. The ability to use all the myriad midi generating, routing plugins out there in the midi fx slot, like Tracktion.

you can run all the windows apps under vmware in linux.
somebody also wrote drivers for hooking audio from vmware into jack.
i've gone back and forth, and frankly, the hardware hassles in linux are a nightmare, the whole reverse engineering thing is a waste of time, IMHO, to end up with a half ...

is this thing available for download to try out?
i have a couple of older pocket pcs with wifi i could try it out on....

i would pay someone at ableton to code this feature, as its all i miss in ableton right now. you can make your own midi fx, in pluggo, reaktor or use the huge available fx if this were available:

is it possible yet to transmit midi from vst's to other midi tracks, so that we can create our own midi processors and generators?

I seriously had to read about three or four different ...

i have used csound on and off for some 10 years before softsynths had even made their debut, and it taught me alot about synthesis in general.. back then, csound was great, but in all honesty, has been scarfed and replaced by all manner of plugins, which are far easier to use, more complex etc ...

Which leads me to my biggest wish for a feature.
The ability to use vst midi plugins.
Then one could use reaktor, max or all the available midi generating plugins out there for midi.
