Re: Ableton vs Logic engine

I found the same, logic sounds slighter better but as someone said, this is down to the stock plug ins (in my opinion) I reckon if I was to use un warped audio files in live & the same files in logic without fx, there would probably be no noticeable difference. I reckon the logic plug ins have stood...

Re: omg, I just downloaded the D-cam Synth Squad Demo.. And

I think they sound excellent! I think it was brought out as competition to massive. It has that similar analog ruffness about it. The bass on strobe is awesome. funnily enough I also prefer Ace though. Ace is the best sounding synth in my opinion. I think zebra sounds weak compared to strobe. I have...

Re: the Live9 announcement you probably missed

This is how I think Live9, or rather Ableton in general could smash it Big time, not only make it linux compatible. But make some sort of ASIO standard for Linux/Win/OSX that was as easy as it is now ASIO/Core Audio. This would not only bring in a legion of new users, but the competition would shit ...

Re: Sample Editor/USB turntable

I dont think you can do this from the current decks that are usb equipped. I'm assuming you mean control like as in a DVS system (Traktor/serato etc). Unless live clocks the bpm in some way from the turntable.

Re: Record or Live 8?

If you can have all them then why not? Thats the only way your going to know for sure what your comfortable with. The SSL mixer in Record is awesome though, but Live has definitly changed the way we work on tracks. I'm gonna use all of them, what is it they about "jack of all trades...?"

Re: DJ looping in Live 5

I still can't get used to ableton for dj'ing. I use Traktor with a controller & mix the "oldskool" way! As in I don't sync or warp or beatgrid etc. I use Live for production & i'm happy with it set up this way. Everyones different so maybe a different set up is what would suit you.

Re: Sonar or Reaper ruined my Ableton set up...

This might sound obvious, but have you checked your soundcard settings? it maybe that Sonar changed something during the installation when it does its "wave profiling".

Re: I am new here and I am having issues.....

I'm assuming that you want to turn our Wav master track from live into an MP3? I'm still dabbling & learning Live myself, but anyway, what you can do is just look for the master file that you have exported from live & bring it up in Itunes, then you just "convert to Mp3" I was having a kind of simil...

Automation - Reset problem

Hi, I've just got into live to the point that I'musing it as my main DAW. The problem is when I record to the arrange screen & move (for example) the mod wheel controlling rob papen predator, on playback, predator resets all automation/mod wheel movements. when I go ove the manual I can't find anyth...

Yeah, I still get nostalgic thinking about there early chicago house tracks, not the soul/house but the raw 909 tracks with nothing else but a vocal dropped in and out with delays...
