New Macbook Air (2020)

I noticed Mac just released their new Macbook Air like a week ago. Curious what people's opinion is with using a Macbook Air with Ableton? I know using a Macbook Pro would be the better choice and I have a iMac to do most of my production work with. They really beefed up what can go in the new MacBo...

Re: Timestamp on Audio Consolidation Question?

You can't turn it off. Sorry that you're finding this annoying... but I'm sure you'll be happy to stop running into the "missing audio file named Audio 001-01" where you have thousands of "Audio 001-01" on your HD. Negative ghost rider. The way my OCD works and the way I organize all my samples to ...

Timestamp on Audio Consolidation Question?

I'm finally using Ableton 10. I noticed after every time I consolidate audio samples it puts a date/timestamp on each block. Is there anyway to turn that off? I find that highly annoying to the way I organize my projects. I like just seeing clean labeled audio blocks. Love how it doesn't do it on mi...

Re: Bouncing Audio

Is Ableton warping the individual stems upon importing them? That got me a few times. You can turn off "Auto-Warp Long Samples" from the preferences menu. Bro what a lifesaver, 100% right!!! I turned off the "Auto-Warp Long Samples" in the preferences and bang everything in time! I know I only had ...

Bouncing Audio

Got a deadline so this is driving me crazy... I have a project and when I export out of the master the whole track is in time no issues. I'm supposed to send the stems to the label and when I render individual tracks to create the stems, they come out all out of time. It sounds like a train wreck. I...

Plugin/Automation Issue

So whenever my Ableton crashes when I use a plugin the automation line goes grey. Once it goes grey I can no longer automate that parameter. I used to be able to click that little left arrow on the top of my screen that is in the orange box and it enabled everything. Now when I check it the orange w...

Roland TB-03 Setup

Just picked up this nice new Roland TB-03 and struggling with hooking it up to Ableton. I assumed if I hooked it up via USB, Ableton would pick it up under Preferences -> Link MIDI Tab. It doesn't show up but the machine starts blinking all over the place. I found instructions on the TB-3 for Ableto...

Re: Different BPMs in Track Channels.

Oh wow I did not know that. Turn off the warping I thought everything had some sort of warping in it? Where is that off switch I ask? So if you do not use the warping it will not follow the global bpm interesting. So when I render the project, if the acapella is not warped, it will stay 87bpm, corre...

Different BPMs in Track Channels.

Hey everyone I tried searching for this question but couldn't find any results. Probably just because I'm wording it wrong, so excuse me if this has been asked too many times. I want to record a prerecorded mixtape for an event. I use Ableton for production and I am aware of the global BPM. So once ...

Re: The new Macbook Air for Live 8 - a good idea?

My Personal Opinion... Considering the new macbook pro comes with Mountain Lion (stock), I guarentee you are going to run into problems. Just like every OS upgrade there is bugs with Ableton and various VSTs/plugins. My suggestion buy it if it works it works but keep your old macbook to work on as b...

Re: Mastering plugins....?

A note from some of the pros I found through various forums. Granted some of their chains may have changed through out time. But the idea of making a good mastering chain theory is there. All about experimenting. I use Waves Gold and Izotope Ozone 5 = Great to Me. LaidbackLuke Master Chain: Limiter,...

Re: Stereo to Mono

Im trying to change my kicks and snares to Mono like you're supposed to! I have no returns running back to stereo. Not fimiliar with this function in ableton compared to the other daw's. I read that all tracks in ableton are in stereo by default if im not correct..

Stereo to Mono

If I add the Utility Plugin, preset "Mono" to my track. Does that turn that track into Mono or do I have to adjust the parameters in there to make it mono. It's hard for me to really hear the difference. Im just assuming that since it says its a preset called "Mono" I wont have to adjust it. Any tip...

Re: Nu Disco House Question

Thanks alot mate. Alot of the stuff explained I already realize thanks for your history lesson. I grew up in NY I realize how the house flavor is based on. The Bucketheads Dope and Vega were the first really house productions I heard, sampling that 70s disco. I just needed your opinion on the new ar...

Nu Disco House Question

I never really tried to screw around with this genre but I hear more and more tracks, that claim this genre. Tracks from people like Geisha Twins and Codes for example. Are these whole tracks splices of old disco samples that are side-chained to a house break. Are their baselines even sampled? I hea...
