where to download 11.3.35?
Hi everyone, i'm still on version 11, and recently updated to the latest version, 11.3.40. Unfortunately, it's really unstable and crashes when just sitting there doing nothing. I'd like to go back to the previous version, 11.3.35, which was rock solid. Unfortunately I can't find where to download ...

Re: Free SoundToys Plugin - Little Radiator
Um ok, well if you guys are done complaining about needing an ilok, i'll move on to actually talking about the plug in... ;)
This plug in sounds pretty dang good, definitely has a nice grit & vibe. Similar use to the Saturator plugin, less controls, but the basics are there — drive & mix. The mix ...

Re: Extremely slow startup - 5-10 minutes
Thanks for the response! I have no new VSTs or plug-ins, and in fact I even disabled VSTs and Audio Units, and still have slow startup. Also I've started up with nothing at all plugged in, as well as with just my Apogee Duet. No luck.
Anyone have other ideas?
thanks

Extremely slow startup - 5-10 minutes
Hi —
Live always takes 5-10 minutes to start.
This is on a four-month-old Macbook Pro (ssd, 4gb ram, quad i7). Live worked great (& started in about 5 seconds) from September until last week, and now it's unbelievably slow to start. Nothing fancy in the default set, audio is either internal or ...

YES! For me too — Live always takes 5-10 minutes to start. This is on a four-month-old Macbook Pro. Live worked great from September until last week, and now it's unbelievably slow to start. Nothing fancy in the default set, nothing changed about the audio gear. Ideas?

Re: soundflower
AFAIK it won´t work this way - Soundflower is for inter-application Audio Routing, you can´t use
it for external inputs. You could send out the audio from VLC to small mixer, connect the
Mic with the Mixer as well and send the sum to Live to record it.

Re: Can I transfer note/patches from a Korg Triton to ableton?
I have a Korg triton rack and I am tired on lugging it around on the road. I only use it for a few songs so I was cotemplating somehow copying the few patches from the Triton into Ableton and play them from the midi controller. Is this possible? I dont know if this helps but I was able to find the ...

Re: help mapping MIDI program changes
Thanks for the reply, Joaoorecchia. Annoying that Live ignores PC messages, given that every synth since 1982 has known what to do with them...
Anyway, I've got it working now. What I ended up figuring out (in case anyone else needs to know) is to use a little program called MidiPipe, which ...

help mapping MIDI program changes
Hi--
I just got a Rocktron Midi Mate foot controller, and I'd love to set it up so that program changes sent from the Rocktron will select a particular scene in Live. So I:
1. Enter Midi Map mode in Live
2. click the "Scene Select" button
3. Do a program change from the Rocktron
Unfortunately ...

Re: want Live as rewire slave to Protools, but it disables VSTs
I know this is an old thread, but you could just freeze & then flatten the tracks in Live. This will render all your Instruments, plus effects, as audio. When you rewire into protools, it will already be pre-processed, so you don't need to actually be running the VSTs.

Waves SSL AU's unresponsive
Hi--
When I insert Waves SSL (v7) AU plugins in Live (8.1.1), they're almost completely non-functional: most of the functions (aside from "Trim" on the E-Channel) do nothing at all to the sound. The VST versions work just fine.
After following the suggestion in this thread http://forum.ableton ...

Re: My theory of rhythm
Ah but you should try to incorporate more complex rhythms into this! In Macedonian, Greek, Bulgarian & Turkish music, for instance, meters in 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 22 are all very common, and are generally broken down into *sequences* of 2s & 3s. For example, a common 9/8 rhythm is counted 12 12 12 ...

Re: Recording & comping multiple takes (ala Pro Tools playlists)
Jimmy Page was someone who pioneered [comping] with guitar solos, apparently the solo in Heartbreaker is spliced together from over 20 takes...

Re: Recording & comping multiple takes (ala Pro Tools playlists)
BTW, Cubase, DP, Sonar and Logic (esp since v8) all have extensive comping features similar to PT.
Yep I think Logic 8's comping was fantastic, and I think that's where PT got their ideas ;)
As for stretching - play with parameters. PT7 and 8 use the Elastique Pro algorithm, which is exactly ...
