I'm trying to take advantage of the windows 7 student offer for $29.99. Since its a digital download, you can't upgrade from Vista 32bit to 7 64bit cuz that requires a physical disc (which i can't get for $13 if need be).
I have 4gb of ram, so my understanding is that 32bit 7 will recognize this as ...

Re: Liquid Mix 16 for $199
That acoustic audio...do you have any insight on how the free version is vs. the full? I have a LiquidMix with the screen so i don't need like 100 more compressors or anything.
For the price, the LM 16 is worth it, i got my normal version for $700, i honestly don't use it much at all because i ...

Now will you have the winner's track professionally mastered or do we need to do our best to "master" the track ourselves?

Re: Your Favourite Effect.....?
For me overall, I'm getting into and loving reverb and short delay (like the classic 25ms right 50ms left)combos. short delay on the main signal panned slightly left, sent to a reverb which is then brought back and panned slightly right.
At the expense of sounding like a total noob, can you ...

Re: 40hz Bass Rolloff/Mastering Chain
Man, that nugen visualizer seems a bit TOO detailed and comprehensive lol. How exactly do you use it macmurphy, just to compare the spectrum of your song vs. a professional one? Technically the Ozone or Live spectral analysis would be enough right? or does that program offer anything extra (i know ...

Re: 40hz Bass Rolloff/Mastering Chain
I wasn't aware of the trance hate on the ableton forum, i sort of figured this program was geared directly to us guys lol. Now watch, after saying that no one is going to reply to any of my posts anymore haha.

Re: Ableton Love thread
I used to use Reason for like 3 years, as my first venture into music production. I thought it was awesome, everything looked like actual gear, you could even flip it around and look at wires..COOL! (how i roll my eyes now)... then you realize that you essentially have to be a 1 in a million god to ...

Re: Behringer B-CONTROL BCF2000 any reviews? recommendations?
I've got one, but literally never use it since i focused on producing and not mixing, and i guess i prefer the precision of the mouse and keyboard when trying to minutely set the volume faders in ableton.

Re: 40hz Bass Rolloff/Mastering Chain
knot, yeah i use Ozone at the very end to limit, or sometimes Waves L3 or Sony Oxford (Sonnox) limiter.
but i think you're right, i don't know why i've always been doing eq8 first.
And i produce trance so i don't need anyting as low as 30hz, i have the Yamaha HS80m so i obviously can't hear in the ...

40hz Bass Rolloff/Mastering Chain
So obviously you want to roll off the bass frequency on an EQ8 on the master track, is everyone using 40hz or do people set a lower freq?
My main question though is concerning the order or devinces in my mastering chain. In every song i will use an EQ8 for the bass rolloff, Waves' Maxxbass, and my ...

Re: Mono Summing etc. (help please)
Well i actually use my Virus TI as my output so i do have a seperat L/R speaker output, so obviously i can just unplug my main monitors, plug my mixcube into one channel and throw on a utility plug in Live to get the mono summing, of course i was just trying to achieve that through the headphone ...

Re: Mono Summing etc. (help please)
I figured as much, but if i use the headphone jack to output to my one speaker i'll be sending out a dual mono signal into one speaker, is that going to be fine?knotkranky wrote:if you sum the stereo buss to mono with said plug, L and R will be identical. Use either channel to any speaker. Same diff.
