Re: Micro Clippings... worth Adjusting?

On your last point about clipping changing depending on when you start the track, you seem to get more when you start the track earlier - do you have a reverb or delay tail hanging around from earlier on? Perhaps when you start form bar 42, the tail has not had a chance to build up to its full ...

Re: Help Needed: Drum Rack doesn't respond to changing velocity?

The drum rack has a "simpler" device for each drum hit and you need tell simpler that it should respond to velocity because by default its response is set to 0%.

The velocity button in simpler is on the right hand sid,e almost at the bottom, just above "voices" and below "LFO". I think you have to ...

Re: Music theory help needed. Scales.

I am a bit confused with the whole scale thing.
For example if I was to do a track in C Major would it only then work will if I use only the keys in the C Major scale and no others?

Cheers

Using only the notes in the C major scale you can write a song that will sound nice but you do not have to ...

Re: just wondering...

There is a funny/awful video of Van Halen on You TUBE that may give you the answer to your question. At a gig in Greensboro, the synth on the song Jump is completely out of tune with the guitar. The first explanation I heard was that the problem was caused by a mistake over whether the recorded ...

Re: Set LFO rate to specific bar length?

In the LFO section of operator you need to check the LFO box to switch it on then. In the second drop down box select S for sync (instead of H for high or L for Low). When you do that the rate button will switch to units of beats instead of Hertz .

Re: Intro bar

Go to the beginning of the track then set the loop brace to 1 bar in length so it covers the whole of bar 1

then choose Insert Silence from the Create menu - on a PC the shortcut is Ctrl+I

Re: Any good tips on tutorials on the structure of dance music

Here is a tip from D.Ramirez that appears somewhere in his Masterclass series

Use a "Ghost Track". The "ghost track" is a tune you really like and you know works on the dancefloor. You load it into your arrangement but leave it muted except when you are checking your own tune against it, checking ...

Re: Play clip in session view without triggering arrangement?

I don't think it is possible to run a session without triggering arrangement. I sometimes want to do that so I have been starting the session with the cursor placed after the last clip in the arrangement so that when I start the session I just get silence from arrangement. I guess you could put a ...

Re: Most reliable, low latency, USB soundcard?

I had awful problems trying to use EMU 0404 USB with Ableton Live running under Windows 7. With the "delay" [cant remember the name of the setting] at around 10ms, I could get about 30 seconds of clean audio playback, then some distortion would creep into the sound and after about 45 seconds the ...

Re: Audiophile 2496 and Live - bad delay (Latency?)

Did you get any help with this?

I switched to an M-Audio 2496 from a E-MU 0404 USB because of latency problems. But the M-Audio card works fine for me. I have the Input buffer size set at 256 and that is fast enough. Do you know that you can set the buffer size by clicking on the Hardware Setup ...

EMU 0404 USB

Hi,

is anyone using an EMU 0404 USB soundcard successfully with Ableton? I bought one because I needed a midi input and I hoped it would provide better audio than the soundcard built into the motherboard of my PC. Unfortunately, I cannot get it to work propoerly with Ableton. At what I thought ...
