I have a Macbook Pro and am trying to use the built-in audio of the MBP but am running into a problem.
I can't seem to get optical input to work.In the system pref-sound there is a choice of mic or line but not digital so I choose line.

I'm currently a pc user considering switching to Live on a Macbook Pro.
I curious as to what audio interfaces are currently working with it?

Sonar default pan law makes it sound wider than Live.At the default 0db setting sounds pan hard left or right are 3db hotter than Live.If you set it Sonar to -3db the difference between the 2 are smaller.
I do think Sonar's mixer has more headroom than Live's.I can easily overload Live mixer and get ...

I think I understand.In other programs I've used there is usually a place in the options or preferences where you designate where files are stored. In Live, if I understand you right,whereever the song file is stored/saved there is a subfolder containing the audio.

Right now it's in the Ableton folder on my system drive. I'd like to put on my
