the trick here would be to open live, go to Preferences and disable audio units, then open the set with the AU that is causing you to crash. then you should be able to delete the problem AU and replace it with the VST...

Almost certainly. I use a 1ghz powerbook...I play in a duo with a fella who uses a souped-up windows machine. during our sets I run 30-40% CPU. He is usually running at about 8%.

i don't know anything about eysweb, and not much about midiyoke, but bear in mind that if you want to use a CC to turn a button on and off, you need to send two separate values: 1-63 for OFF and 64-127 for ON. Sending the same message repeatedly won't work like it will with notes.

from what i recall, the documentation for this program is pretty darn good, and the author of the software is very helpful too...what exactly are you wanting to use it for?

my experience is that hiccups - such as what you are describing - occur when my CPU is choking - and almost always has something to do with a softsynth. I don't think you mentioned your processor speed, but 10 audio + 3 combinators giving a powerbook some trouble doesn't surprise me much at all ...
