Just as an aside really, SVN understands binary files (e.g. audio) and will only track the changes between versions.
Older version control systems such as CVS don't do this and keep a complete copy even if 1 bit has changed.

Yeah, your best bet is to just use a utility on each track set to decrease the volume by the same amount. If you ALT drag the same one to all your tracks,you don't even have to retype the volume decrease each time.

you dont have to replace your library, you can also uninstall all the ableton live packs (from preferences) and then re-install.

worked for me and I managed to keep all my 3rd party sounds.

And the pod can act as a USB dongle to authenticate the podfarm plugins.
With this you can run as many instances as your CPU can handle. Some really nice effects in there too.

I don't use my X3 for sound any more, too much routing and preset hassles.

I think I had a similar problem last night.
Tried out the Live 8 demo, which updated my library, then when I went back to live 7 none of my presets would load.

I fixed it by uninstalling all the ableton live packs (not 3rd party ones) from the preferences menu and downloaded / re-installed ...
