I've used reaktor5 a few times in the short span that I've had Live. It's excellent for creating loops and capturing them in Live.
Besides all the instruments, don't overlook the fantastic FX it's capable of.

ok, I got it to start..removed a few suspect vst's.
However, it gives a msg (which I remember it doing this last night as well)
"cannot create folder "EQ3" in folder "D:\ableton\presets"

I did a fresh install of w2k last week, so basically the only thing on my machine is live and a few vsts. It has been working flawlessly, although I am new to it and haven't done anything complex to bog it down.
However, this morning I double-clicked the icon and the live splash popped up..

Bought an M-Audio keystation 49 and discovered it came bundled with the Live-Lite version which offered a verrrrry sweet upgrade deal. I'm very grateful, and excited enough that since reading the tutorial on hands on control, I've brought the Pro 88 home from the gig to play with.
I love Live; may ...

just from memory, only 1 vst plugin (yes you can do midi)
4 or six audio...
but the greatest thing is a fantastic upgrade path to Live 5!
