I just closed Live 10 after saving an old project from Live 9, but when reopened it looked like a fresh install; stock skin, and all my 3rd party plugins were not scanned, collections were all gone as well as my stored 'Places'
Any idea why this happened and if I can get all my settings back?

Keeping midi notes selected while playing back a clip
When I am editing midi notes in a Live 8 clip, I have noticed that after I select some notes and make an adjustment , the notes I had selected shortly deselect themselves after I start playing the clip.
This is extremely annoying because it means that every time I wish to make a new adjustment I ...

BCF2000 Vs TouchAble
Hi,
I'm looking for a control surface to mix with (in the mixing engineer sense, not the DJing sense)
I am looking at the BFC2000, and the slightly more expensive option of an iPad + TouchAble / Touch OSC
Despite my research on both systems, I can't quite figure out how easy it is in a real life ...

Choosing a control surface for mixdown
Hey guys.
I'd like to buy a midi controller to make the mixdown process more fun, quick and tactile than digging around with the mouse.
The functions I'd like to control are as you would expect: track volume, pan, send level etc
But I'd also like an easy way to add and adjust graphic eqs.

Re: 'Printing' bus and send effects to their individual tracks
Okay, so I need to put the sidechain compressor onto every track and adjust the threshold to match the effect of everything being bussed together?

'Printing' bus and send effects to their individual tracks
Hi, I'm using Live 7 and I want to share a session with a collaborator who's on Cubase.
I'd like to give him individual dry instrument tracks, AND also tracks that have the reverbs, delays and sidechain compression added.
I have set up my session with Delays and Reverbs on Sends, and I have a ...

Tight, funky bass sound: Go DI and use a plugin or Mic up?
Hey there,
I'm doing a recording tomorrow that requires a tight, funky bass sound very similar to the one found in these two songs:

Best way to combine firewire devices?
I have a G4 macbook with one firewire 800 port.
For my music production I use a fireface 800 interface and an 3 year old lacie 60GB firewire hard drive.
Up until now I have been swapping the fireface and hardrive cables in and out of my single firewire port, but now I need a fast and stable way ...

Fireface 800 - RANT!!
I have been using the Fireface 800 for the past 5 months or so.
I am very happy with the sound quality, but I have complaints about the ease of use.
Firstly, I find the totalmix software gives me a headache. I can get the basics, but there seems to be so much added functionality that I don't need ...

Competitors for the Traveler and Fireface 800
Yes, I know this is another audio interface thread- but I just want to
ask if anyone here can recommend an audio interface with (at least) 4 preamps for less than £850
(the FF800 costs £850, and the Traveler £570 in the UK, just to give you an idea.)
I'm gonna be recording bands (in bits) which ...

I use an alesis x25 midi controller
