no thanks - keep the "Ableton" style
ableton is what it is because, among other things, of the way it looks. i vote leave it as is. personally i think ableton layout is way better than the "real" looking softwares out there.

Automating track delay to offset timings across tracks
I envisage that this feature would be used to create slight shifts in timings of beats or rhythms across tracks. For example, you could have a kick on the 4/4 in track A, then hats in track B could be shifted slightly forward or aft of the kick by using automated delay. You could also use it to ...

automated track delay.
it would be great if you could create an automation envelope on each channel for track delay, so you could slow/speed tracks relative to one another.

ducking effect = phase cancellation?
Hi,
Have you considered phase cancellation? This occurs when two sounds are playing in an overlapping frequency range – a negative phase in one channel can cancel the positive phase in the other channel to produce reduced/zero amplitude for that frequency band. You could get around it by cutting ...

Hi All,
I just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with tempo synchronizing Ableton Live on a Windows XP laptop with one or two Macintosh PowerBook G4's. I would like to work in a "band" type situation with multiple laptops, all tempo synced, running paid versions of live 4 to 5.2 (6 ...

simpler v impulse
it might be (I am not in front of my DAW to test it) something like:
-turn the loop switch off in simpler, so it will play once like in impulse (if looping is also off in Impulse) and the time between "midi note on" and "midi note off" wont matter.
-hit the note "middle c" in simpler, then the ...
