USB cord interchangable?
I need to use a longer USB cord to connect my Push to my desktop. Does it matter what kind of USB cord is used? I noticed that the one that came with Push has a round cylinder near the end that plugs into the device... any idea what this is and whether it is essential?

old Live installers for Windows (touch-able compatible)
I recently purchased the touch-able app for my new ipad and was trying to configure it on my Win 7 64bit laptop. After some time of frustration I discovered from the Touchable forums that there is some issue using the app with Live 8.2.8 on Windows but that it works fine with 8.2.7.

New instrument on each track OR route midi from mult trax?
I have been using Live for years to dj, but have only recently started trying to produce my own tracks. I bought Komplete 7 and have gotten familiar with the instruments, but I have some confusion when it comes to laying out an efficient session view setup:

Re: MJDJ MIDI Morph - Use Python/Java to write midi translators
why not use bomes? it's rather simple..compared to writing code no?
The point is that a higher level language would cut down development time considerably and increase the flexibility of what you can implement. You could write one python function that does the work of countless bome's translator ...

MJDJ MIDI Morph - Use Python/Java to write midi translators
Most have hear of Bome's Midi translator right.... ? I was going through the process of modifying my fairly complex bome's template for my APC40 setup and thought to myself: "this language is so low level and clumsy, it would be so much easier if you could just write the translators in a language ...

Re: Decoding Cache removes files well before it's size limit
I just had a revelation: If you change an mp3's tags, Live will have to redecode the file. This must be what was happening in the majority of the cases that have been puzzling me...

Re: What is the best method to synch two laptops running Live?
If you have a MIDI out on your audio interfaces
I have midi in/out on my firebox, but my other audio card is an audio 2 dj (only stereo outputs). However, the second computer will have an Axiom 61 attached (via usb) which has midi in/outs on it. Do you think it will be ok to run midi between the ...

What is the best method to synch two laptops running Live?
I want to synch two laptops (for two separate performers) running Live. One person will be DJing, the second person will be creating drum loops and hooks, playing samples, etc and adding them to the mix

Decoding Cache removes files well before it's size limit
I noticed that no matter how large I set the size limit on the decoding cache, Live will remove some of the decoded files (but not all). For example I can put a 40GB size limit on the decoding cache (on a harddrive with 100's of gigs of free space) load up a live set that decodes 25 mp3 files into ...

Re: Using Encoder to change parameter and switch on/off device
are you using the default "device control" setup for the apc40 where the device control knobs automatically switch to whatever device the blue hand is on? If so it must be reading your macro knob as an on/off type control even though it is assigned to a continuous range type of control as well ...

baFunkadunk - A funky jackin house mix
We got a lot of positive feedback from our last funky house mix, Funk In The Trunk; so, we decided to put together another all funky house mix. It's almost 2 hours of booty shaking fun. It's called baFunkadunk, check it out:

Re: Running full version of Live and demo synced together
After thinking about it further, I think for our purposes (adding effects, drum loops, etc) it might just be better to run one computer, one copy of live and have the keyboard setup with good macros to switch between modes and control the parameters we like. I realized my soundcard has 3 sets of ...
