I work in the genre of music.
Of all the 'labels' that have been created, I really dislike the term 'experimental.' Artists that categorise themselves as experimental rarely are. I'd go further and say any art that truly pushes boundaries isn't created by someone who is conscious they are treading ...

Brilliant - that's not a term I've heard since the mid-90's!logic_user99 wrote:the moon on a stick

Re: launchpad question
lol. I've dumped all my controllers except the LP. The only issue I have is that there's no interpolation between volume levels on the mixer side. Because of the buttons, volume is stepped of course. Would be nice to have an open for gradual change. Still, I'm in One Controller Bliss Mode, and that ...

Re: I feel cheated
To be fair, I don't think Ableton have ever suggested that Max for Live will come as part of Live 8 or be free to Live 8 users. It's been clear from the start that MfL will be an add on - hence the term 'Extend' in relation to it.

Re: Live 7 and launchpad??? is the update here?
Have given the LP with Live 7.0.18 a thorough test this evening. Everything works as it should, and I am now a very happy chap!
Not sure what else was changed in 7.0.18 but I'm also getting lower CPU usage than in 7.0.16, which is always useful!

Re: No Custom shortcuts
To be fair to the OP, most DAWs do let you overwrite keyboard shortuts, and to come up with macros. To be able to do this in Live would be handy.

Music is a ridiculous art form because sometimes people don't write songs that I don't like.

Re: Can I use Launchpad as a keyboard
I am loving this function. I also like that using LP I can quickly arm a track, select a clip to record into, then start entering MIDI note data, and then begin looping the clip - and all without touching the laptop/mouse! :D

Re: LaunchPad's Mixer Moder question
Volume / pan / send level ramping-to-values would be a nice feature. However, I am enjoying the effects you can get with parameter jumps. Maybe the novelty will wear off, but I've had no desire for knobs/faders when using the LP so far.

Re: Max4Live, Max4live Lite, Max4Live R/T. Which one are you?
I will get M4L at some point I am sure, but my main reason will be to have access to the stuff other people create for Launchpad. I just don't have time right now to build my own patches. So, I would appreciate a 'runtime' with the option to upgrade to the full version later.

Re: LAUNCHPAD DAY 3
I got mine two days ago. I works as intended. I don't know how the original promotional video used the record in user mode to get drum rack driven loops in user mode.

Re: grayscale monome sixty-four
no I didn't. Not being interested in something isn't the same as questioning people getting excited over just a color change when there are now comparable controllers with more options for less $$.
Well beyond the obvious aesthetic changes there will now be a bus-powered 128 with the tilt ...
