the 'moving tempo' you are experiencing is very large so some problem there.

it's a good bit of software, and if used creatively is a very powerful tool..too many people use it as a 'ptich fix' package, but can potentially be used to play with pitch the way abelton "plays" with time.

I've had same problem, can be overcome if you max out your RAM...and it is a bug in PT rewire implementation...a similar problem can happen with reason when sending a lot of rewire channels into PT.

the itunes tip is good...even create mp3's of tracks (left chann-mono mix of your track, right chann- click track) to use as a replacement track until live reboots.
Will be using live on tour soon and will report back with anything interesting
