I tried to run live 6.0.10 under Ubuntu (Gutsy) and Kanotix using Wine without success of any sort. I know that's not much help but it's all I can contribute

You'll find a tutorial on how to recalibrate the expression pedals. It worked for me.

I've got a Behringer FCB1010. It's great:

I would not describe it as cheaply made. It's quite sturdy, in fact.

I've just bought an fcb1010 from ebay. It would be ideal for what you describe. It's not a 'plug-and-play' though, so i would advise joining the yahoo group for some advice
