Hello out there,
Does anyone know how to use the APC 40 as a classic drum machine with say 4 pads by 4 pads of drum pads? (Think MPC style.) I'm caught up on the fact that each column on the apc uses a different midi channel.
Also, at the end of the Max for Live video on the Ableton website ...

Hey Sinceare,
I'm curious how you went about learning how to program your FCB 1010? I bought one used and the instructions I found for it seem ridiculously complicated. Or am I just making it out to be that way?

Thanks for making me aware of that which is explicit. It's still a bit early for me here.

Live 8.1.4 Update: Suite or Program Only?
Does anyone know if the new update includes new intruments, lessons, and ect. or is just the program enough to get Live all up to date assuming I had it totally up to date prior to this?

Are there still issues with Live 8.1.3 and the APC 40?
Hello everyone,
When I go to midi map a slider and then change my mind and unmap it Live no longer recognizes the default setting and my slider no longer works at all unless I manually map it again. This of course poses a delmma when I then go to shift the red box over to the right becuse the fader ...

Impossible Bug Reports
It seems to me that there is an inherent issue with relying heavily on user bug reports. That is that, from my experience, many bugs are nearly impossible to duplicate. How many times have I been working in Live using some basic function when the program crashes. Then after restarting the computer ...

Yeah I'm not really into the the whole Kumbaya thing either. Can we get back to the constructive critisism to spice things up a little?

Re: To Gerhard Behles, Dennis DeSantis, and company.....
Big ups to the Ableton folks for A) putting out a fantastic piece of software and B) weathering the (sometimes good-natured...) whining from their enthusiastic fanbase. :D
I think all the bitching about the quirks in the new versions is actually a testament to what an amazing piece of software ...

Yeah ditto here too.
Now I would point out though that with the exceptions of the rude and immature material that inevitably shows up on this forum there has, in my opinion, also been some very good critical input on some of the issues Ableton has faced lately. I hope this continues because it ...

Re: Masterkeyboard with 88 keys (piano feeling) - which one?
My advice:
Save up as much as you can, pay no attention to the knobs and faders since you can buy controllers that are specifically devoted to this sort of thing without breaking your bank and go for a professional quality keyboard that has the nicest feeling weighted keys you can find (Kawai ...

Re: general ugliness
Everything I've read about the optimization of operating systems for use with DAW's puts a large emphasis on minimizing the visuals of the OS. I can't imagine it is any different with the DAW itself. The bottom line is that thos fancy visuals tax the CPU. That makes no sense when the application is ...

Warning Messages in beta versions before set is saved
When a new beta version is first installed and opened it gives a warning to back up work due to potential data loss but then the message does not reoccur after that. But after awile it dawned on me I get complacent about this fact and eventually when I use betas for an extended period of time I will ...

Re: Poll: Live 8.1.3 ready for release.
I think 3phase really hit on some pertinent points. I know that I never actively used the forum until I started having issues with the newer versions of Live 8. If anything the forum is simply a way to confirm that these issues are not all in my head. Now that I'm aware of the forum, maybe down the ...
