Equipment recommendations.
In 2009 I bought Ableton just to play around with and see if I liked it. All I had was Ableton, no other software or hardware. I really liked what I could do with it and I had a lot of fun. Right now I'm thinking about getting some equipment and learning more of Ableton and making some some complex ...

Re: New Equipment Recommendations + Help.
Okay, so I was able to bump my budget up to about $1800-2000. Not sure if I want to/need to spend that all on stuff though. So Im thinking: Native Instruments Komplete 7 - $500 Akai APC40 Controller - $300 M-Audio Axiom 49 Keyboard - $250 M-Audio Studiophile BX5a Monitors - $300 Shure SM58 Microphon...

Re: New Equipment Recommendations + Help.
Thats a good question that I cant really answer. I like experimenting with different genres, but I like upbeat electro stuff as well as some industrial sounding stuff.dton wrote:What kind of music do you want to do?

Re: New Equipment Recommendations + Help.
Tom Cosm has lots of cool tutorials on different techniques in Live. http://www.cosm.co.nz/ As far as controllers go, I personally like Novations keyboards the best. Although the knobs and faders are not the best quality or built to last forever, they give you tons of them, and if you take care of ...

Re: New Equipment Recommendations + Help.
A MIDI keyboard and/or integrated midi keyboard with controller functionality, or a seperate controller is definitely going to be a massive help. Beyond this, it really depends on you and your musical workflow. You could certainly do a lot soundwise if you invested $500 in Native Instruments Komple...

New Equipment Recommendations + Help.
I've had Ableton 8 since last Xmas and I havent really created anything appealing. It's partially my lack of knowledge of the program still, but Im also thinking that with some proper physical equipment I could make better tracks. So I'm just wondering what basic equipment you guys would recommend? ...

Setting tempo for a specific instrument?
Okay, so Ive been out of the Ableton world for a while (not that I was ever fully in it) and Im getting back into it and Im trying to figure something out. So I have the main tempo on the top left at say 80, but say I want a specific instrument's tempo to be 120. Is it possible to do that? Thanks an...

Good plugins to have?
I bought Live 8 back in December and Ive been playing around with it daily and learning a ton from experimenting and tutorials. I want to get some plugins now but Im not really sure about which ones are really good to have.
Any recommendations?

Looking to buy some 3rd party sounds. Any recommendations?
I have most of the newer stuff from Puremagnetik, but Im looking for some more synth sounds as well as maybe some percussives.
What are some other companies that sell sounds for Ableton, and are there any packs you recommend from them?
Thanks.

What are these called, and can they work with Ableton?
I just found a new band I really really like and instead of a drummer it seems like they have some sort of like physical sampler. Here's the video: 0:16 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pib8eYDSFEI A few weeks ago when I ventured into the world of electronic music and bought Ableton Live 8 as well as ...
