Re: Chord Progressions for Stacks
I always thought Stacks was a really great idea, but limited with just that set of chords. Didn't know you could load your custom .stacks in it until I saw your post, nice! Writing those rulesets are beyond me but you know what.. ChatGPT seemingly can generate you loads of them based on genres or ...

Re: Bounce MIDI data to new Midi clip?
Set up new midi channel with MIDI input from your original clip channel. Set it "post fx" and record.
There's a "MIDI bounce" Max device by Side Brain that'll do it automatically, it's $5 though. Well worth it imo.

Re: Is this "expected" Performance in Ableton Live 12.2.1?
It does seem a bit underwhelming considering it's top of the line AMD consumer rig. Live 12.2.1 on Intel 13900K and Motu M4 at 96kHz and 256 samples the average meter juggles between 30-36% and current meter occasionally goes above 50-60% on the last chorus part.

Which audio interface and buffer size? Which Windows power profile?
There are some Windows power settings that are hidden, which make too agressive power saving things which mean bad performance in DAW use. I'm also on 13th gen i9.

Well yes, there are big differences on how each rig performs, depending on your set structure and the tools used. Some plugins offer multicore support internally to help with spreading the load evenly, but most of them don't.

Anyone use Live 12 on Intel Core Ultra 9 285K or AMD Ryzen 9 9950X?
Hey,
I'd love to research the performance of the current high-end consumer CPU's, Intel Core Ultra 9 285K or AMD Ryzen 9 9950X. It could be a XEON or a Threadripper too (but it's already known that the low single core performance is not making these ideal for Live).
In case you have either of ...

Just to be clear.. are you pressing "generate" on Stacks after you've found your desired settings?

Re: Ableton Live 12 Release
Speaking of the beta's.. They are probably expiring some day with the public serial activation, but do they continue to work if activated with a valid license? Just in case there's some teething issues with the release.

Re: About Live 12 upgrade Pricing
8O that's not expected!
Your L8 is still a L8 Suite so you're keeping access to all the Suite content for your L8 license,
but your L10 Standard shouldn't provide access to Suite content.
Or something went wrong down the road and you've been lucky!
Perhaps the system got confused by such ...

Re: About Live 12 upgrade Pricing
You will get to keep every old Suite feature like Sampler, even if you upgrade to Standard from Suite. I have previously upgraded from Suite 8 to Standard 10 and I kept M4L, Sampler etc.

Re: 256 threads ableton did not start
I'm not sure if anyone has ever tried to launch Live with such amount of threads.
You can limit the number of threads with Options.txt with adding a line like:
-MaxAudioThreads=32

Re: AMD Threadripper 2920X // Multi Cores Performance
Yeah, it's not ideal that we are getting these high performance parts and then the DAW is not using even half of the available power. But it is really about the long audio chains that comes with single tracks' plugin chain and when the audio is output to a bus that'll just build up the chain. And ...
