Re: Quantization

I've had the best luck by only quantizing after the fact and adjusting the quantization percentage. I often set that pretty low between 40 and 60 percent. Percent is set to 100 as default. Of course your results will vary based on playing accuracy and kind of material. I've also found that it's diff...

Re: New Live Export - Export to Ableton Live from iOS apps

This is a positive development IMO. The ios platform has all sorts of crazy, wonderful sound creation and manipulation tools that capitalize on touch interfaces. The tools that now have Ableton Live export and Link-Korg Gadget, Triqtraq, Patterning, and Blocs Wave are among the most beloved ios musi...

Re: SLPlus (remote script for Novation SL)

I'm guessing the faint screen issue is a general hardware issue with the SL MKII's. It's a shame. I had to have an LED screen replaced. The replacement began to fade recently so I bought an AC adapter. That fixed it for now.

Re: Your tips for chords...

as others have already said it's helpful to list the notes in your melody then figure out they key/scale.

Re: Best way to integrate iPad into Ableton setup?

Finally got this working... After changing "64" in VST dll file names to "64bit" all is well it worked, but WTF ipad and Ableton Live are now having a two way conversation without a hardware device and using my soundcards native driver. cool stuff I'm using the beta, so I'm gonna starting "Linking" ...

Re: Best way to integrate iPad into Ableton setup?

@scheffkoch - It's a Windows machine @koranek - I have an iconnectmidi2. :-) So I can already pass MIDI and audio back and forth between computer and ipad. I just find studiomux to be a more elegant workflow. I'm not real keen on being forced to use asio4all for the iconnectmidi. MIDI via usb cable ...

Re: Best way to integrate iPad into Ableton setup?

Live isn't recognizing the studiomux VSTs here. I have the latest studiomux server and VSTs installed. Anyone else have this problem?

MIDI works great.

That's my experience too. Did some limited testing last night with an ios app (Patterning) driving a drum rack. Dragged the tempo sliders in Patterning and Live all over the place and sync stayed solid. Link is the real deal.

lol. Look at the dates of the posts. OP comes back to complain *again* nearly two years after saying they uninstalled software.

That's some impressive follow through there.

Re: Using any DAW with a touch screen monitor?

This may be of interest to some on this thread. Molten Music has a video series where he shares his experience with DAWs on a Surface Pro. Here's his installment for Live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPLUivPDK0Q The bit he covers about absolute mouse mode beginning around 7:30 might be of intere...
