Re: Video Issue: "..could not be read ..." HELP!!
Ran into this issue today on Live 10.1.25 in Windows 10. Installing Halli worked for me to import .MP4 and .MOV formats. For .MP4s it seems a lot more buggy and inconsistent so sometimes I need to delete and re-import the video to get it to work correctly but at least it stopped giving me the ...

Re: Best Effects not as standard with Ableton
What kind of effects are you looking for? You can demo most software so I'd suggest taking starting with a certain type of effect (ie: delay) do a google search and download some demos. I agree with the poster who said 'best' is different for everyone. You might come across something that most ...

Re: Routing Audio in to ableton
I don't really like doing this but if you're having issues with soundflower you could also output from the Audio 8 in Traktor, plug that output into an input on the Audio 8 and use that as your input for Ableton. It uses up a couple of hardware inputs/outputs but if you aren't running much else ...

Re: Routing Audio in to ableton
I'm not really familiar with the dmj800 but is it just a standard mixer or can it function as an audio out from the computer? If so it should just show up in your audio outputs in Ableton. If not select an output from the Audio 8 as the output in Ableton, then plug in that output into an input in ...

Re: an oscilloscope!
That seems like an easy thing to add as a plugin. There are a bunch of analysis plugins and free oscilloscope plugins available that can be used if they don't add a stock plugin within Live.

Re: What controller
If you're going to get into some production as well it might be worth going with something like the APC40, which can do a lot more than the XSession. I've never used either so I don't know how they compare feel-wise for mixing. The XSession might work better for you because it's strictly a mixer but ...

Re: Waves plug ins and live
There have been a lot of problems with AU plugins in Live 8.1.1 that weren't happening in 8.1. Could be more of a Live issue than a Waves one. But if they aren't working in Logic either maybe there's something wrong with Waves AU as well as Live 8.1.1 AU support.

Re: NI Pro53 issue
I was using Pro53 the other day and didn't notice any problems. I'll test it again today to make sure but I don't think there were any problems.

Re: Performance of Live 8 with older Macbooks?
For an instructional course I don't really see what he'd be doing that would max out the RAM. I guess he could want to use a ton of tracks at once, but that doesn't teach you anything more than using the same techniques on a few tracks. If you can do a technique on a few tracks you can do it on ...

Re: Applying Compression to Samples
Guess it depends on what was originally done to the samples. If they were sampled for realism they might not have been squashed too much and you might want to compress them, depending on what you are trying to do and what type of music you are putting it into. And if it's an instrument that has a ...

Re: [6295] all my Nomad Factory AU plugins crash live 8.1.1
The weird thing about the CSR Reverb plugin crashes is that CSR Plate works fine , but the other three (room, hall, inverse) don't. Pretty annoying.
