i don't understand why output is 8.71 because at 44100 with 256 samples must be 5.8 ms

out of computer?
how can live measure latency out of the computer?

I use an echo audiofire2 with live 6.07. I set my sound card at 256 samples, 44100. The latency (in the driver monitor) is 5.8 ms. Now, when I go in live preference, I see 256 samples, 44100 sample rate but the latency output indicated is 8.71 ms!
Why?

Dear kodama, I see that you have x-station and indigo IO.
In your opinion the audio quality of the output is different (I want to buy an x-station to replace my indigo IO, and I hope that novation have the same quality)
