Re: Omnisphere users - help with mixing?

i try to accompany omnisphere with other synths. i still use the live synths, love them in fact, especially operator. but, i spend a lot of time switching between presets in all synths while the track is playing, to find sounds that sit right with each other. sometimes omni at the forefront. sometim...

Re: looking for new soft syth...

i love some of my pricey virtual synths. omnisphere is preset heaven.

BUT, on a lark, i downloaded oatmeal, and man that thing has one of the best randomize buttons ever! i feel like i just hit it a few times and eventually land on something i like. I use oatmeal quite a bit these days!

Re: Harshness for Ableton Live

Axiom, ignore these dudes. It's a good product from what I can hear, not exactly my thing but it certainly is different.

I found out about most live packs from these forums: covert operators, trackteam, puremagnetik, etc. so there is no reason why you shouldn't post here.

Re: slicing to midi - get rid of the click at slice end?

i struggle to find workarounds for this issue as well. machine does have some slice fade tools, although i haven't found an easy way to use the maschine tools either. i still like slicing in ableton more. lately i use one of two methods: 1) i go to the midi and just shorten the midi notes that produ...

Thomas, I'll have to try that wrap setting. I agree w/ you about Granite. Though, I really like Granulator as well, different sounds.

Re: Robert Henke Granulator

I don't have M4L so I was hoping that one of you might fill me in... It seems as though Henke's Granulator is a lot like Granite from NewSonicArts http://www.newsonicarts.com/index.html Do any of you have both? If so could you elaborate on some of the differences? They are pretty different. What is...

Re: Robert Henke Granulator

Glennv, in the effects presets there is a max for live folder and buried somewhere in that folder is an API tools folder. This is filled with max patches that offer all sorts of ways to control virtually ANY parameter in live. Well, there's even more to it than that. I took a look at each device and...

Re: Robert Henke Granulator

just when i thought i had enough granulators! many thanks to robert!

this one is really nice and very musical, on par with granite. there is some harshness in this one that sounds amazing and helps me pretend that i know how to make all those cool monolake sounds!

Re: Robert Henke Granulator

... Ah right. I actually have a solution for that. I have a device with 16 dials that can be mapped to anything. And you can save up to 64 presets of persistent mappings. All I need to make is a preset for the Granulator and people can control it with Automap and OSC. Save it as a Rack preset and i...

Re: What do you think of M4L?????

when i first got m4l i was not using it much, but some of the emerging content is amazing (not everything is on the maxforlive.com site by the way, google is your friend). the live API controls in the new upgrade are wonderful. i don't plan on building or editing max patches in the near future, but ...

Re: mapping drum machine pitch (transpose) to a macro controller

least hassle is to use the pitch-bend wheel, which can be automated like clip envelopes and the added bonus of being able to record that automation right into session clips since it is midi.

of course this will pitch up/down the entire kit, if that is what you are looking to do.
