You're probably not going to get sampling this complex anywhere outside of the VSL Vienna Library stuff. Truely an amazing VSTi. Bravo Specs!!! 8)

I'd make a long post about different kinds of basses and how different sounding they all are, how difficult it is to make them sound really good in recordings, how hard it is to make actual bass instruments sit in a mix, how a simple thing like a good DI makes the difference between heaven and hell, how miking bass cabs and double-bass is an art, etc. etc. etc.

F to the A to ill, son.

If someone can become a shitty bassist in a week, the same person can make shitty dance music with software in 5 minutes.
I'm not claiming a $300 electric bass can reproduce every stringed bass instrument throughout history, and if this plug can closely do that then awesome.

I'm by no means the world's greatest bass player, but if I strap on a bass I can get way better sound, groove, and feel quicker than if I'm tried to emulate it with a keyboard and samples. But that's just me.

At the same time a lot of music I've heard from members on here uses the very basic bass sound I'm talking about when it's not all electro stuff. So maybe I need to expand my knowledge of member's music on here but I haven't heard anything that features the vast, realistic, and exotic bass sounds that this thing excels at.

That, and the bass is a metaphor for your circus-freakishly large penis.

Also, the product is Trilian (with one L) - this will alleviate any confusion with Trillian, the multi-protocol chat client.

Or wait, was the chat client with one L and Beats Me's penis is with 2 Ls?

Neb,

Sometimes after I play Grand Theft Auto for a couple hours I get in my car and end up driving like a complete idiot.

Sometimes when you spend too much time on your own forum you...

You have it backwards. I was trashing people buying plug-ins thinking it's going to make them sound like a real bass player with little to no effort.

BUT at least one person on here has said they have the keyboard playing chops to emulate a real bass player also. That I respect.

Some keyboardists are definitely master basists - mostly Hammond dudes, like the cat from Soulive, or any of the famous organ trio peeps. Saw a band once called Mecca Bodega, I was off in the woods gettin' attitude adjusted, and heard the band start playing and thought "what an awesome bassist" - it was the keys guy! He had a crossover hooked up and sent all the lows to a bass rig.

In a related move, I just bought a Dean Pace (upright on a stick) for 250$, and it has warm fat (phat?) analogue sound, and uses 0MB RAM. I can wander up to it still wearing my guitar, and make basslines into looper. Fretless is the bomb, but it is kinda freaking me out that the dots are exactly where the frets would be - my inclination is always to play ahead of the dots, as on a fretted instrument. It definitely brings some nice organic feel to electronic music.

For what it's worth. Trilogy was an incredible VI. Eric and his posse created bass sounds that fit really well in the mix. It was my got to bass module for Chicago style house. Can't wait to get my paws on Trilian.
