Tone Deft wrote:... Jim you gave up on max4Live after 2 days of trying it and have been ranting against it ever since.
To correct what Tone Deft says:
It is true that I had an initial negative response to Max for Live. It is not true that I gave up after 2 days.
It is incorrect to say that I have been RANTING against it, other than saying the initial devices were primitive compared to Reaktor.
Once I realized that the API was different from what I expected I TONEd down my response. In fact, I did not respond at all to Max postings in the last few weeks. I looked it over, explored it, decided it was not for me, and went on.
I have nothing against Max for Live as an Ableton Live instrument interface.
I think Reaktor is a far better audio exploration tool.
Look over Tone Deft quadrillion posts of rants and hyperbole and compare it to my simple, helpful posts. Make your own judgments. But don't be deceived by the adolescent knee-jerk response and the game of quantity over quality.
I think Tone needs a lot of psychological help and I have written to him in private posts to try to mellow him out.
No success.
I really don't care what you, as an individual, buy to help you make music.
Choose for yourself, as Tone Deft suggests.
