Jesus I really shouldn't bite on a statement like that, but come on man? The wording there is pretty immature sounding at best.
used metasynth licenses aren't hard to come by.
No, but the savings isn't that great when the upgrade is $99-299
Sorry, but the standard price for Metasynth is about $400 new, so unless you can find someone willing to sell 3 for less than or equal to $200, the hassle of buying a used copy isn't worth the price break.
Not really interested on debating whether metasynth is over-priced or not, but considering the upgrade price from 4 is only 99bucks - there's every reason to believe you can make considerable savings.
Never mentioned it being over priced. Savings wise, no, you really don't save much by buying an older version, unless again someone who has 3 is willing to basically give it away to you. Thing is, people who buy it, like it. Believe me I would love to be proven wrong with this. :)

you're the one going on about 'bursting bubbles'
You obviously want some kind of debate, you big can of diluted piss, but I won't give it to you.

$200 - $300 savings not enough ?

OK buddy - if you say so.

Now move along.

Not when you can pick a brand new version up for the exact same savings!

That, was and is, my only point. Your assertion that second hand copies reap big rewards is true only if you look at buying Metasynth from the developers site. Like I said I would love to actually be proven wrong, but people do not sell used copies for peanuts, and new copies are radically cheaper than the 'list' price.

Hi, we have some good news for you.
U&I Software is offering AudioNewsRoom readers a special $200 discount on MetaSynth 5. The offer ends on Dec. 26.

The final price for Metasynth 5 would be 399$ (normal price 599$), or approx. 275 euro. That makes it much more inviting! Just remember that the offer is valid only for a few days.
To take advantage of it, please read the article linked here (and feel free to forward/retweet the news to your friends):

yeah, I agree, it's a quite "amazing" and unique tool (or better, suite of tools). And the v.5 is better than ever. That's why I've tried to bring it to more people as possible, asking the software house to reach this agreement, even if just for a few days.
Given the weak dollar I think this offer it's even more inviting for european users.

I have very fond memories of using Metasynth with Argeiphontes Lyre on a shitty mac with akai sys and an s2000. Would spend ages making messed up waves and exporting them all day long. Metasynth is certainly a lot of fun.

Anyone know any other procedural synths for pc? I want something that batch generates a load of semi random samples from a set of parameters.
