@mihai..its your point of view and i respect it ....for me its not because its cost lot of money that it means is superior..for me pthd is a standard in lot of studios around the world + its expansion cards allows you to load lot of plugs without eating cpu.. otherwise i ve asked about ableton sound engine's debate to big name , electronic or not , artists who use logic ,ableton or pro tools ,on myspace ,and they told me that its is as good as others..trust me or not
..
@ tsutek : of course its possible with other daws..but the debate is often about muddy low end or ableton is not really good for mixing because of its summing bus etc etc....with this video you see that ableton sound like other daws.. not less not better .. as good as pthd which is use as a standard to make sound design ,mixing and sound in general in famous movies ..
in this video you see that there is no problem with muddy low end or mixing summing bus or whatever..its just that ..
for me its a steril debate..
and if people arent capable to make live sounds like that its because they dont know how to do it ..
i dont like rumors, disinformation and discreditation thats all !..sometimes it even look like propaganda..
when you see all the artists who use ableton and who have access to great expensive gear in famous studios ...just that ..should stop this debate..IMO
for me the two things that i think pro tool , by exple , is a bit better for mixing its because that its arrangement view is a bit clearer and the possibility to PRINT directly the fx in the audio file without freezing a full track or make a routing ..more ergonomic i think .. and the possibility to move clips in arrangement with keyboard's keys without using mouse.. plus ,of course, all the expensive hardware created to use with it..
but if you use good eqs, comps, preamps ,sound card , fx in general.. + if you dont saturate plugs ,bus ,summing bus + if you let enough headroom + if you work at 24 bit ..i dont know where is the problem ..
but all of that is just my modest point of view ..
ciao
