Apples are great computers if their platform is to your taste, no argument there.

What I really admire Apple for is the way their users are compelled to do their shilling and public relations for this huge rich multinational, and they do it all for free. Some of you dudes are a short step away from spruiking outside an Apple store dressed up as an iPhone.

agreed.

myself I feel often a bit ashamed when speaking of my mac(s) to PC friends, because I could make a great official dealer, even if I've no commercial talent

perhaps do apple use a kind of pheromone in their machines, to make users addict and preachers!

but I guess it's just the QUALITY of what they sell that makes them like a business leader / monopole...

the fanbase is growing and growing since years...

I'm not specially waiting for the new mac pros... but always interested.

FACT: same specs PCs already exist, but hey, not macs, so the mac lovers are still waiting!

well, i am not ashamed at all, what is easier and more natural then speaking highly of something that through and trough satisfies you?
and naturally you do that for free.

A tablet would be neat and all, but i don't have any interest in owning one myself.

I also am hoping that a new Macbook Pro is announced. I'm still using a Powerbook. It has really held up over the years. It has been able to handle what ever i throw at it and perform well. Untill I upgraded to live8 suite and suddenly the old Powerbook started to really show it's age. I'll be sad to let it go, but it's time to retire my PB15.

Bring on the Macboook Pro Quad Core!!! Hoo La La La!!!

I think this will be one of those situations where they will just appear on the site without any big news conference or fanfare.

...and hopefully the quadcore MacBook Pros will be added to the Apple store later this week.

While I think the iPad is decent for what it is, I'm more intrigued by the announcement that Apple is manufacturing their own processors for the thing. They've got a 1 GHz processor built to their specifications to work hand-in-hand with their hardware and software. I wonder how far off they are from producing processors for their laptops... or if that is even in the cards? It was big news when Apple announced that they would be using Intel processors. One would think that another processor manufacturer change would be bad news. Unless their processors are just for their mobile devices.

Hmmm.

Welp, I just have to keep my 2003 dual 1.8 PPC G5 tower for a while longer. I made an entire track on it last weekend. The thing just won't quit!

Well, the lack of announcement re: either new MacbookPros or desktop Pros has pretty much convinced me to get a 27" iMac as my first dip into the water.

I doubt it. If it was going to be that soon I would think it would get at least a "by the way..." annoucement at the conference. But who knows.
