Stay on 8.0.9 = don't: Preferences-Library "Repair Library"?

Would it fetch content for a newer version?

Is the downloaded 8.0.9 Suite "complete" anyway?

your thread title is confusing.

from what I've read the Library content gets tweaked by Ableton from time to time, so most Libraries are probably not 100% up to date (not a huge deal.)

when you do an install it only installs Live, it doesn't look for Library content until you repair the Library except on a fresh install where no Library was found.

I THINK. :?

Thanks Tone! (had you in mind anyway :) )

Title = very limited space... (better title would be ...)

So if I would do a "Repair Library" on 8.0.9, would it fetch library-content for 8.1.1 and make 8.0.9 unusable? In other words, if you are not on the newest version & want to stay with that -> don't "Repair Library"?

& another one: If you are on the newest version, would Download Live Packs (Latin Percussion, Drum Machines, Session Drums…) become obsolete?

I don't think so. I'm usually not on the latest release and have never seen an error about the Library 'not being compatible with this version of Live.' I have tried to install Live Packs that were created in new versions of Live and Live wouldn't let me.

I think they update that stuff from time to time.

dunno, this is a good one for someone at Ableton to answer definitively. it should work out OK but if it doesn't you can really get screwed. I also don't use a lot of Ableton's content, mostly just instruments and EIC samples.

hth. I think you're OK but I wouldn't way 100%. :?

Confusing that library & update stuff & some not really clearly explained in the manual... :? :?
