The developers must have thought that "oh, you can just select everything and copy, it's just as easy", whereas in fact it can be tricky, esp. on big arrangements.
- it's also inconsistent as hell not to have it
you're right, but not only is it inconsistent with the rest of the commands(just looking at the Edit menu should make that error really apparent, "copy" just sits there all alonedavepermen wrote:just duplicate and cut, no need to have to manually select all of it.
yes, it should be there. but duplicate-cut is technically the same as copy. except for the short moment your playback (if it's after the duplicate/cut place) will be out of place (while duplicating, you obviously shift everything after it away, then cutting move it back to where it was).
yes, it's a fault on their part. but for me it was immediately apparent. then again, ctrl-d is my main shortcut i use in liveMachinate wrote:you're right, but not only is it inconsistent with the rest of the commands(just looking at the Edit menu should make that error really apparent, "copy" just sits there all alone), it's also not immediately apparent to do that dup->cut manuveur, imo.
BUT a much better workaround than selecting everything. Cheers.
