how do you select a track?
can you map a button on your midicontroller to do this?
Hope it's ok to jump in: when you enter midi map mode, the title bars of each track become midi-mappable, so you can assign buttons to each one. I assume Nick has done that here.

I can't remember if track selection is also programmable automatically via the remote surface instant mappings... I think not, afaik.
+1

thats exactly what i did :)

Thanks for sharing tips !
My question is I would like to know how to assign "0" and "8" to scroll up and down clips.
Can we do it through Live's midi map ?

Thanks again !

^ yes, when you enter Live's midi map mode, over on the master track in session view there's some scene up and down buttons which appear. Just assign the buttons to them.

i just finished a new layout & design. this is what it'll look like, still got to print it tho..

Image
(resizing makes it look a bit pixely but the fullsize version looks wicked)

sweep is filter sweep from the dj master channel, so are the eq knobs
delay is the dry/wet from Ping Delay
nitrous and speed are knobs for the custom super luper pluging (really sweet, check out http://tarekith.com/misc.html for some more info, dont know if its still around)
ftg is the fade to gray
the arrow fader is to move up and down the scenes
the 'fader' fader is the master fader, although i hardly ever use it

got a psd of this, so if anybody wants to edit this for his own setup send me a pm, it's the right size so you can just print it on A3 (without scaling ofc) and cut it out

edit: uploaded the file here

surprised no one mentioned this:

assign a rotary knob to scroll up and down the clips.
in conjunction with a button to hit play on clip....

with 2 channel set, you can launch any clip and navigate(knob)
with a total of 3 controls (knob + 2 buttons to launch).

Problem: when i try to assign a uc33 button to select a track (session view)
i have to press the button Twice for it to work, how can i correct this?

Change the button to a Note. It maps much more naturally in Ableton Live :)

Right now the buttons on your 33e are probably in CC toggle mode. They switch between 127 and 0 with each press. One option is to reprogram the buttons to toggle between 127 on each press. There are other CC control methods too. I decided instead to change all the buttons to Notes instead of CC's. With the behavior of the buttons, Notes seem to work best.

thanks.

in the advanced manual theres a section called
setting toggle value for buttons. i think this is what you mean...

so i assign 127 to 1st press of button, and 127 again for 2nd press of same button?

theres another section called assigning a note to a button...

my wrists/arms hurt from using computer/mouse. time to make this uc33 work for me.

can we highlight diff sections of ableton from uc33?
i mean, say if the focus is on clip/sample view, and you want to put focus on track clips/slots...
ive gathered you can do this with qwerty keys, like alt and arrow keys....can this be midi programmed to say a rotary knob?

these look good, "UC-33e Mouseless Navigation Templates" on this forum.
