here's one ive never managed to figure out.
if i'm mixing ambient or downtempo stuff sometime i beatmatch but often i don't want to.
for example i might be playing a dub track at 68bpm...then want to mix in a psybient track at 89 bpm which has a long beatless intro. in a chill mix the jump in bpm isnt jarring because of the long intros.
my only solution is to slowly change tempo in live but what i really want to do is disable warping for these tracks. trouble is toggling warp causes the audio to stutter briefly.
any solutions?
mixing ambient of chill with beatless intros using live
Re: mixing ambient of chill with beatless intros using live
Maybe there's a different solution, but the stuttering sounds like a bug...
Does toggling warp on a clip that's not playing causes audio on all tracks to stutter? Does it still stutter when you set the audio buffer to a high value? What warp mode do you use i.e. does it still happen if your toggling between beats&none? What version of Live are you using?

using live 8.
yes it always jumps and stutters. also, to make this work i need to be able to toggle warping on/off on the currently playing track without the jump.
for instance i might want warping off to bring in a beatless intro track...then resume warping for the next mix.

What should work ok is switching warp on and off when the global tempo matches the clip tempo - does that work for you without any glitches? If not, try on the latest 8.1.3 (keep your current version though, just in case).
