Well it does. See the patch offered above. It automates send signals.
But Max For Live patches output only stereo audio signals, that's true, and a shame I guess...

it's a workaround to a workaround.. same as for the sysex issues... kinda sick of workarounds..

I agree, in essence, that Live should prioritise Live issues - not daw issues.SubFunk wrote:i voted 'there is better software to do this'
i under no circumstances want to see that ableton ever implements that, get another apps if you do stuff like that.
damn, we have enough nightmare with live already to put in what others do much better already.
get logic, or something along those lines.
However, you seem to be inferring that live performance is a stereo only affair. With that I couldn't disagree more.
So, +1 to Surround Sound support from me - especially in the context of performance.

It's so sad that it is still that rare nowadays (and I don't understand it).
and so hard to get the gear for it in venues.
I hope I'll really be able to do it quite often in the future.
In quad for live situations (for the performance from which you can find teasers on my myspace page), also Octophony but not "live" (electroacoustic diffusion of a composition).rutgermuller wrote:Has anyone been doing live sets in surround?
I have more experience with stereo tracks played on acousmonium (up to 48 spatialized speakers). It's not live, it's not separate channels, but it really can give deep living and quasi organic sensations (my piece "Ice Breakdown" you can also find below, was suuuuch a pleasure to play in a large venue with all those speakers all around... this way body and mind can really live the music toghether in an attentive manner)

I could use it for some art-installations of some friends. they'd loove tons of speakers, each doing "it's part".
oh, and dum: subfunk doesn't think liveperformance is a stereo-thing. mostly, it's a mono thing
but sure depends on the musical scene. more art-style setups like real multisources. clubs, mono can be enough.

It is such a pain to have to draw envelopes to play this kind of stuff in my work for theater, and that prevents me from trying this kind of things on the fly. So +111111
