Until now Everything I try to do with is (within the limitations of the Intro version) seems to work very well. The sound quality is good using my E-MU 0404 sound card, and setting up the PreSonus Faderport was a piece of cake. I also own Sonar 8 Producer, and The Soft synths + FX from that package seem to work very nicely in Ableton. It is nice to have the best of both worlds. All in all I am very pleased with the results.
However when installing a package from the Content disk I get a strange error about an missing license. It is the package DrumMachinesLD_v8.3.alp. When I try to load the live set LD Blowout-180.als I get the message:
The licence to use certain protected samples is missing.
One of the following products must be authorized:
-Essential Instruments Collection
-Drum Machines
Now - I understand Intro is a rather limited version, and I really don't mind that because I am just playing around deciding if I will take the jump to the bigger version (no - the 30 day's for the full version trial is not long enough). I only think it is a bit strange you get a box containing DVD's with packages on it you can't use.
So - am I doing something wrong and can I somehow authorize these products? And if so - how do I do this?
Or - are there packages on the disk you cannot use (with is a bit strange in my opinion).
Please do not think I am criticizing anything - a am just wondering what is going on...
