arpeggiator timing issues

i have an arpeggiator pattern that i like but as soon as i dis-arm the track record button it completely changes the pattern / quantization. any ideas why this might be and how i could get round it?

bump bump... has anyone else had similar quirks with ableton arpeggiator? it's actually not the first time i've experienced this and still can't figure out a solution. thanks for checking.

Do you compensate your latency and do you have Delay Compensation turned on?

hi christian, thanks for getting back to me. delay compensation is turned on and when i turn it off it alters the pattern in the same way that disarming the track does. i had a quick scan through the manual and it isn't any clearer.

i can upload some audio samples if that would make it clearer?

Damn glad I found this thread, was going to start a new one. I made the exact same discovery last night. I was wanting to 'play' an arp'd hook like one that I already had programmed down. After an hour or so of fiddling with all the arp nobs, gate, timing,offset, retrig onbeat or note etc, I realised that it was impossible to reproduce the same riff when your track is set to monitor in or armed auto.

The solution I cam up with is to automate a midi pitch shift on the same channel using a looping dummy clip. The hook I was after went up 3 octaves and down one in one bar, pretty easy to program. Now I get to play the notes and therefore reproduce the groove exactly (or as close as my ability will get it) and not limited to the 3 swings.

after a bit more investigation it seems that when i disarm the track the arp holds the notes as it would if the "hold" button was enabled. any idea why this would be?

I'm searching this forum with exactly the same problem that Iozoz describes in the last post. I have the Live arpeggiator in a track with both the hold button mapped to a button on a NanoKontrol. Works fine, except when I turn off the arp altogether, the arp keeps arping, like a ghost. Even turning off the whole rack doesn't stop it. Turning off the whole track seems to do the trick. Is this a bug in the arp?

Running Live Suite 8.x on a fast MBP.
