Ik spoke about a specific ipad version coming soon. Honestly if the iphone version is this good I can only imagine the bigger app to be the same but better. The only gripe is there's no way to rearrange the fx chian on the fly, you have to switch pedals in theri respective slots. Not so handy, but then you can set up presets. Clearly Native Instruments has some work to do.

None of the screen shots on iTunes show that kind of layout and I would think on the iPhone if there was that kind of layout it would be hard to see and adjust things because it would be so tiny. Am I wrong?

So you're saying the screen layout shown on the iPad in that video exists on the iPhone version?UKRuss wrote:It works OK, honestly looks fine even on the little phone/pod screens.beats me wrote:Check out this vid using the iPadabletoff wrote:Using the iphone version on me ipad now, it goes 2X but it's definitely not ugly. Lol. I phoned probably our biggest chain of music stores here in NZ and asked about the iRig. They knew about it but said that they probably would not stock it at all because they would not be able to make enough money from it and that there would probably not be the interest by musicians in it any way.
Arggg. So now I have to formulate a plan B.

I can't see the video and don't have an iPad but if it shows more than one effect at a time or the whole chain amp, and FX at the same time the no, you don't get that on the phone/touch version. You see one effect or your amp choice at a time, but it is easy to set up your chain and save it as a preset, then you can instantly recall your presets by simply choosing the number.beats me wrote: So you're saying the screen layout shown on the iPad in that video exists on the iPhone version?
Definitely not fiddly.
Re: I tested out the new iRig on an analog synth...
The video of the iPad shows 4 pedals on top of an amp head with mic selection on the bottom right corner. Basically everything at your fingertips on one screen without scrolling and the adjustable parameters are a good size. I think I'll hold off if this version isn't available yet.UKRuss wrote:I can't see the video and don't have an iPad but if it shows more than one effect at a time or the whole chain amp, and FX at the same time the no, you don't get that on the phone/touch version. Exactly and look for more information this week. More FX at the same time, access to more amp controls on-screen, more. Heck, look for the actual app this weekbeats me wrote:The video of the iPad shows 4 pedals on top of an amp head with mic selection on the bottom right corner. What is your recommended way of getting this unit in New Zealand?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Exactly and look for more information this week. More FX at the same time, access to more amp controls on-screen, more. Heck, look for the actual app this week

Great news. I think this is the first music app other than controller apps that will get some serious real use. It will be nice to have at least one thing not hitting the computer's CPU.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Exactly and look for more information this week. There should be dealers that carry it, but it may need to be mail order at this point. Seems traditional retail has taken a somewhat "wait and see" approach in some cases... Did you check the list here for dealers? http://bit.ly/ikdealersgjm wrote:What is your recommended way of getting this unit in New Zealand?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Exactly and look for more information this week. The iPad native version of AmpliTube is in the App Store now too for those with iPad. Here's a cool "picture-in-picture" video that creates a looped-style piece, done with AmpliTube iRig (on iPhone): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laPaZiqmPrM
Also, check out Dave Matthews Band bassist Stefan Lessard showing off iRig (getting some convincing DMB tones out of iRig) and also showing off his live rig using Mac Minis and AmpliTube/Ampeg SVX! http://bit.ly/ny1pre

iPad version out. Sweet.
I'm curious how anybody uses this thing without the iRig hardware adapter. The iPhone version has been out for awhile but the adapter is just coming out and I really don't get how you can use it without it.

We started shipping the iRig adapter the first of the month in Europe and about a week later in the US/Japan and pretty much world-wide. So people do have them, probably for at least a couple/few weeks now. There have been thousands sent out and received and I do believe there are dealers with them still in stock though there's another production run happening due to demand.beats me wrote:iPad version out. Thanks, got a hold of the distributors. For the Kiwi's here it is Jansen. They are only bringing 50 units into the country, arriving mid August. They will retail for $99 NZD but they are taking paid orders pre arrival for $69 each. Old thread but have you tried yesterday's 2.0 update? I'll bet it sounds great on instruments other than guitar (or, even better than it already did)Hidden Driveways wrote:Check it out:

Yes, there's some guitar in there. And bass. But there's something for the electronic musician too. The iRig just started shipping today, so you could go get one at a place the sells them. They're $40 USD. The full AmpliTube app with the Wah and Phaser and such is $20, but the free app with Delay and Distortion is fun to mess around with too.
