I'm a Live user since version 3, and a Reason user since version 2.5
But since 5 years I just make electronic Music.
Now I want to go back to my roots - late 60's early 70's - and want to play (and record) natural Instruments. Guitar, Flute, Jew's Harp, Percussions, Synthesizer, Singing Bowls, Gongs, Voice...
All I wanted was to hear RECORDING-EXPERIENCES from other Reason and Live users.
Thank you, I'm already on my way. 8)
Why dont you try yourself? I enlisted for Beta and almost got a fit just looking at the GUI, the worst I ever seen. I use Reason and wanted to like the Record, guess will get it for free with Reason upgrade but doubt will ever open this nightmare of UI.
If you want traditional DAW than go for one you might know from before PT,Logic or Cubase if you never used those and have to start from zero, I would go for the Presonus, The developers come from Steinberg but they had free hand, unlike PT, Logic, Cubase didnt have to bother about previous versions, started from scratch, so it is the most modern of current DAWs. Its mastering section alone might be worth it.
If someone wants to do serious midi recordings, hardware synths etc, and editing midi Live would be the worst choice, at least 15 years behind proper DAWs, absolutely retarded and useless but for acoustic recording it is fine.
