changing from 10.4.11 to either leopard or snow leopard
I gotta change OS's - there are a few plugs that I want that are 10.5 and up - including NI7 KOMPLETE. I have soooo many samples - which are on an external drive but what I'm hoping is that I can do an install straight on top. I have to many programs that I simply dont have the time to re-install. Plese let me know of your experiences

Upgraded some time ago from 10.4.11 to SL on an 2007 iMac, 2.16 ghz without a glitch. The install process has been streamlined a lot and goes on top of what you have already. No need to re-install anything. Worked like a charm. One word of caution though, make a bootable clone of your entire drive before you do anything, you never know. Good luck

I upgraded my macbook from tiger to snow leopard two or three months ago. Everything went smooth. Only one minor thing later on, Cyberduck for FTP did need upgrading for snow leopard.

Go straight for the Snow...Best thing you'll do to your Mac.

Done the same as described here 15 days ago. The patient was a 2006 C2D Black Macbook with 2 GB or Ram and an old G950 video card.subunit23 wrote:Upgraded some time ago from 10.4.11 to SL on an 2007 iMac, 2.16 ghz without a glitch. However the upgrade to snow leopard went good, releasing 10gb of space which was very welcomed on my 120Gb hard drive.
Speed despite some 'placebo' effect described over the net has not increased noticeably. It's my old Mac, only revamped with bells and whistles. A good move IMHO.
