no wonder he moved to an iMac G5... that powerbook certainly can't handle a trackload like that!!!
anyone buying into the Sasha "Revolutionary" hype needs to bookmark the above.

its funny how the eternal Trance vs. Techno battle transends the formats of analog/digital dj/production etc. It seems the Richie's will forever be the ones really pushing things and getting no recognition for it. And the Sasha's will be forever regurgitating something done by the Richie's, complete with press releases and shiney plastic packaging.

who is surgeon?:O
also adam i do agree with you, even the ableton tutorials use a more complex als file than sasha....
and if you listen to some of his sets....everytime he is mixing songs he uses exactly the same drum kick
edit 2: hawtin has been really forward thinking, he was one of the first djs to use final scratch, and now that whole visual thing...

Hawtin has been attending Sasha's School of Advanced Live Loopology in Switzerland for the past 3 years.
No wonder he is improving in the race to match Sasha's inventive technical genius.
Unfortunately Sasha is a swiftly moving target; always advancing and developing new twists and turns.
He will never be caught by his protege Hawtin.

It's all marketing..the only reason people like trance is because they've heard the word attached to the music..name recognition onlyAdamJay wrote:its funny how the eternal Trance vs. Techno battle transends the formats of analog/digital dj/production etc. It seems the Richie's will forever be the ones really pushing things and getting no recognition for it. in america the way to sell something is to put more into marketing then into the product itself
thats why all the goods are always hidden, and hard to find
...most people don't even know techno is a genra.
the people who don't like techno and support trance are just sticking to what they know.....when they finally realize "techno" is not another word for "electronic music". They get up tight when more experienced listeners call the pop music crap, so they fight back
It's all about turning it into pop music..yuk
if you think about it that is stealing in a bigger sence then jackin' bass lines ... because they (copererate music) are trying to steal the soul!
DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE (like 51% of usa did lol)
I hate BS dj's that don't even mix...it is to easy to hide up there behind the decks gear whatever and do nothing
reminds me of milli vanilli
but man it happens alot....coperate crap trying to cash in on the next big thing. The sad part is is that it make it hard to the truly dedicated to ever get the respect that is due
