help with M-audio uc-33e

Post by sluggo » Sun Jun 05, 2005 4:04 am

Hi,

I just got a UC-33. I plugged it in, and got the usual usb installation messages. It shows up in my device manager as USB audio devide. Properties on this say that it is the uc-33 and that the device is working properly. However, it doesn't show up as midi hardware in Live (or other programs).

I also have installed a uc-16 and a midiman 2x2. These work fine.

Any suggestions? Thanks,
s

The problem coul be with having 2 M-Audio devices which both show up as 'Generic Midi' devices. Download the evoution drivers and install them following the instructions and then the UC33 will show up as a UC33 and the US17 as unsuprisingly a UC17.

Works for me with my UC33 and XSession. A further tip is to set one to send on channel 2 and the other on channel 3 and then you won't have any controller conflicts.

Good Luck

cool, thanks. I had been looking on the m-audio site for drivers and there weren't any. I have another question though, my controller is a UC-33e and the drivers are for a uc-33 (hardware/device manager lists it as a uc-33). Does this matter?

thanks

Is the Uc-33e supposed to list two midi inputs? My computer is showing UC-33E midi In1 and uc-33e midi In2.

thanks
