i remember sasha from back in the days he used to play shelly's here in sunny stoke - i wasnt into house then i was up the road above a busstation jumpin up and down to altern8 and charly lol
bak then it was old skool hardcore one minute - then piano and bloody sister sledge the next - very eclectic but it worked - ppl were up for anythin
i mostly lost interest in the mid 90s progressive was too soft as i was into ma liberator acid tekno up at havok in manchester - tho i did see sasha a few times and was allways very impressed - i've never heard him play a girly vocal trance thingy when i've heard em - its allways been the more locked in tek trancy stuff... maybe thats before it all came poo? dunnno cant remember
havin sasha on at the void in stoke (where golden comes from and had just ran 10 years) closed the club down - sasha's fee was £15 000 and the club had to be rammed full to recover the costs - and it was only about half full.... i was workin and couldnt skip too go see him - and i wasnt really that bothed.. seems alot of ppl felt the same - this was about 2 years ago and ppl were not as interested as they used to be... golden had been mental hardhouse for a few years - which had alienated the older house crowd totally...the place was half empty
bugged off! was startin to do pretty good - nice to see u.n.k.l.e. - slam - plump djs and others there - it was attactin a more mature crowd - dave clarke was due the next month..
even havin the rock bands on monday nights was startin to work
then the powers that be decided to put sasha on at great expense - and it flooped and closed the whole place down - great move
the void was a shit hole anyway and the growin number of chav's in the population was causin more and more stress on the dancefloor - but at least it was a place to go and hear some decent djs - some of the time..
so - thanks sasha!!
good mix tho - will have to copy it for ma dad - he'll love it
