^^That’s right, the Jump action currently won’t accept floats (like 0.5), just whole numbers. I’ll get that addressed in the next update.

In the interim, this set of patch files allows for using floats with the Jump action and for using a multiplier with the BPM action (like BPM *0.5). These are for ClyphX only (not ClyphX7). To use them, close Live and then drop the files into your ClyphX folder. This will overwrite two existing files.
Therefore, what does macrobat have for controlling mixer settings over this basic functionality?
Macrobat, in general, is primarily intended for extending your control capabilities. The Track Rack would let you control mixer parameters from any controller that is set up for basic instant mapping, which would include almost all of the control surface scripts built into Live.
Why then do you need a macrobat to control other racks; how is this different?
Because the Receiver Rack allows you to control racks on other tracks.

I’ve done my best to document all the features as clearly as possible, but I agree there is room for improvement and I’d definitely welcome some help in that department in terms of users sharing their sets and such. FWIW, I do plan on shooting a new video (or several) on ClyphX in the near future.

Since I don't have any money to give you at the moment, and have plenty of time (hooray, unemployment!) I'd be happy to help with the written documentation. I could add graphical examples and such. Let me know!

i just thought of good one to add (unless i missed it)
a looper action to adjust the quantization of the looper.

handy for looping when your playing drums.

^^ You can use the Device Best-of-Bank Action for this (like DEV P4 >).

Thanks for volunteering. What would you need from me to get this going? FWIW, the manuals were done in MS Word and I can send you those if need be.

Anamexis, cheers for volunteering. I took a bunch of notes in my PDF versions of the documents, and if I see any real questions I had in the margins, I will post them here. If you get a chance to make an updated Session, that would be awesome. A number of rack types haven't been covered yet, and some actions and syntax could be blown out (pointing to a specific device in a parallel set of chains for example.)

There are other posts around on constructing tutorial sessions or having the help panel display device-specific information. I'd love a flat-out step-by-step set-up of the new CLIPHX SNAP Channel with the Embedded CLIPHX SNAP RACK. Although I could get it to record the parameter data, I couldn't get it to snap back on a MIDI channel using a midi rack, mostly because SNAP is a new feature for me to explore. I personally could use a more comprehensive table of what is SNAPed with the different options, and maybe an example of when you'd exclude certain options over others. And what if we used a freeware vst plugin for the bank preset changer, so everyone can get that example to work? If you want me to proof-read anything, write out some of my scripts, or volunteer some "copy", let me know.

Matastatik, any way of getting my multiplier for BPM to work (a relative tempo changer)?

Happy Easter and Spring.

Yeah, just the word .doc from you would be great. I could just flesh it out a bit and send it back to you.

Ah of course, (lightbulb). Thought this reply was more in reference to anamexis' request for fractions of a measure. I'll play with it this week. Thanks for posting the patch files.

It works! EUREKA. This is a BIG trick, if you consider how many other utterly complex means it would take to accomplish this (MIDI FILTERS, feedbacking the TAPBPM button, nothing else works). A BIG THANKS

[BPM-HALF-TIME] (pseq) BPM .5; BPM 2
[BPM-Triple-TIME] (pseq) BPM *.666666667; BPM *1.5

Yeah theres a cool trick you can pull off mixing tunes at like 135bpm into 99bpm.. because 135 in 3's is 99 in 4's or something like that, so if you end the one track with a bit of delay you can mix off of that cadence, err..

just been messing with the snap track with different morph times on Operator. grinning like an idiot here.

just wondering: the min/max value of the morph time seems to be 1 to 99 (the number in brackets after the track name), but how does it relate to actual time in seconds?
it seems to take around 17 seconds to morph completely from one snap to another with the setting at 99. does that sound about right to you? just trying to figure out if the numbers relate in anyway to tempo or seconds, so i can work out tempo-sync'd morphs

thanks again

Huh; I got a "Too many parameters to snap!" error on a big o'l rack I put together. Takin' this to the shop...

The morphing is definitely sweet!

Hi all,

I can't find the example set spoken of? Could someone please post the link to download it (I'm using Live 7)? Really looking forward to give this a shot. Looking at new & improved ways of maximizing my Korg Nano Kontrol :)

Michael.

The live set example was included in version 1, and has since increased in features to include macrobat, which is still included in stable version 2. They do help, but don't let that stop you from taking the reigns directly from the video example and thr manual. Some adjustments to your syntax and you'll be up and running.

Speaking of syntax, I need some help:

What is the proper syntax for controlling the sidechain on/off toggle on the compressor's native control? While were at it, there are no examples of toggles, just continuous controllers. I am trying to access the first (and only) device on the 3rd chain of the 4th rack of my 6th channel (or track if you call it that) and among other things, I want to make sure that the side chain to this device, which in my case is the live compressor, is on.

I have:
[CompSide] 6/ DEV4.3.1 B1 P1 On

Ah, I'm pretty sure instead of "on" I want the value 0 (zero)

Still no luck, however

But nothing happens to turn on the side chain. Anyone have the answer?

Have you tried it without any on or off instruction? Like leave it end with P1?
