Isn't there also a glaring orange bar across the bottom of the screen that says Demo Mode?

Hmm,

I see what people are saying about not realising, but I had this happen to me a while ago too. Was just messing around with Operator to see what it could do, fully aware of demo mode.

Did a bit of the jamming that Ableton makes so easy, which included replacing Operator with something else, and then ended up with something sounding pretty cool. So I go to save and its still in Demo Mode!

OK, so I should have known but I also own Fruityloops which allows you to save any project in which you use demo instruments, but simply removes the demo instrument channels.

Surely this is a much more sensible way of doing things that allows you to have a spot of unplanned inspiration AND save it. Surely you shouldn't have to pay for your own midi notes, just the sounds that Operator creates?!

Cook the books! Seems to me as though you can either lose 3 hours work at $30 an hour ($90) by closing the file and starting again, or you can spend $150 just buying Operator, recoup the $90 that is no longer wasted and feel happy in the fact that you've just effectively bought Operator for $60...

Seems like there was a workaround posted for this a while back...

Ever since live 4,1,4. You can leave live on. Buy/unlock operator. And continue your work.
Versions before that will make you lose your work.
