It's probably not obvious (although it is explained in the manual) but this isn't quite correct.

The "stretch" control is completely ignored when all mod sources assigned to position sum to a non-zero value. When the combined mod source values modulating position sum to 0, the value of the stretch parameter is taken in to account. You can use this to your advantage by using e.g. an MSEG. When the MSEG "flatlines" the sample will play back at "stretch" speed, otherwise it will play back at "MSEG slope" speed.
What i would love to see in a future version of Alchemy:
- realtime sampling, an integrated sample editor and adjustable crossfade looping with constant power fades.
- drag and drop audio files into Alchemy.
- individual outputs for all sources.
We're considering actual live sampling and also slicing, but won't commit to anything just yet. Drag n drop almost certainly in v2.0. Col (biomechanoid) and myself are both in the corner fighting for individual outs but remain to convince the others.

All of these ideas are awesome, but if we implement all of the awesome ideas we won't release it until 2020 ;)

Peace,
Andy.

We're very sorry that my suggestions to your support email have thus far been unsuccessful. I've brought your support email to Andy's attention, as I'd like to get his opinion on the situation. He will be contacting you as soon as he has the opportunity.
I'll send you an email from support. No idea at this stage why it would be failing. So far we have 2 cases that I know of where this is a problem, one on Windows and one on Mac.

Peace,
Andy.

Geez..........you guys are FAST! Like i mentioned before : Camel Audio's support is the blueprint for other companies' support (imo).

Great tips there Andy, i'm going to experiment with that.
Thanks!

Thanks andy for the support and answers. Makes me love camel audio/alchemy more;)
.
This maybe sounds stupid but Is it possible in the future that you put the individuel samples on the website so you can download missing samples one by one instead the whole soundbank?

We have thought of this but it's not quite so simple. When samples are "missing" it usually an indication that the installation is incomplete, so downloading each missing sample individually would likely just mask the problem for a single preset but cause other problems later.

Best would be a "repair my installation" option that figures out what is wrong and sets up the appropriate download for a specific user, but that is going to require some significant work to do right.

If we can find time we'll implement some kind of search facility on our site that will help users find the appropriate Camel Sounds file to download without needing to email support. This could be done via the help button, or searching for the file via a web page.

So: we have lots of ideas, it's just a matter of figuring out which one is the most practical :)

Peace,
Andy.

First off all i love alchemy but there are some things with the update on which i like to comment...
(Correct me if i.m wrong because i tried the update only for one hour)

I.m missing some samples after downloading which is annoying because i now have to download again. (1 or 2 hours)
also had problems with that in the past. I never have problems with dowmnloading other software or files so maybe it,s the setup off the alchemy soundbanks which generates this problem.

Also i don,t need to see all the soundbanks which i didn,t bought.
This is a sort off "in app" type advertisement and makes the browser chaotic.
Also you have to highlight the banks you bought everytime when you throw in an alchemy in a new miditrack.
If camel audio chooses to keep all the soundbanks visible they better can make it a sort preview mode in which you can listen to the sounds on the website. Thats the only thing which make sense.

Also no scrollwheel support.

I hope this is pertinent.
I too just got Alchemy, however I am having the same problem stated above. The some sound files are missing, and it's not possible to give them a directory at installation, so I have no idea where they are going or even if they were actually downloaded completely? I believe I moved the "DATA FOLDER" to my other HD then rescan but yet there are files missing, I cannot find them. Also it's difficult to confirm which ones are actually installed, I am not a novice, but I am not an engineer either, but it seems like this should be a bit easier. Other than that , the sound I do get to play are amazing and I love the quality of Alchemy...

I saw the link for the bug fix, so I will give that a try, just wanted to post my experience with the installation process from my humble perspective.

@ tintala,

I also had issues of missing files, and followed the 'bug fix' which did not fix the missing files issue for me.
I had to re-download all Alchemy library files ( Parts 1,2 & 3 and new bonus presets etc ) and re-install them.
I remember this happening to me in the last big update to Alchemy.

This did take some time, but all is working as it should.

With the new Alchemy & mobile update, I am finding a new love for this synthesizer.
Only beginning to take advantage of the poly-aftertouch.
It is pretty crazy on an ipad keyboard to have notes/velocity/poly-pitchbend & poly-aftertouch all happening at once.

Hi,

It's annoying when the missing sample problem happens, but it's always caused by one of two things:

1) A CamelSounds file did not download completely
2) A CamelSounds file was not installed (or downloaded at all)

We can say this with confidence because we are very careful to check the files we distribute from our site before a release occurs. But yes, it's frustrating for users when it looks like something is broken.

The best way to find out which file is not installed is to post the names of 2 x presets and 2 x missing wav files here and I can identify which file you need to download. Thanks.

Peace,
Andy.

Btw, I'm just using a great library called, Sounds from the Modular by Mike Hulme of U & A Recordings within Alchemy, with great result! From processing the loops and using the SFZ files, Alchemy rocks! It's really the perfect synth and sound mangler for this type of library..can't be happier. This is the little review of the library I wrote: t.co/hXz3v4y6

Definitely on the must have list, while waiting to try the QuNeo with the synth as well.

Love this synth when I can find the sounds.

When I load LIve, Alchemy always opens a pop up sayin "it cannot find the "ALCHEMY DATE FOLDER". This happens EACH TIME ON LOAD UP.

I then load the path which i have put on a different drive and NOT C:. All of the folders are there, yet Alchemy wont see the libraries and asks for the folders each time...
