Left and right arrows - why?!

Post by Citizen » Sun Aug 04, 2013 10:22 am

Does anyone else find the orientation of the Left and Right arrow buttons to be slightly infuriating? I am forever pressing the wrong button.

One would assume that it would make more sense for the Left button to, uh, take you Left - and for the Right button to take you right.

Am I missing something here - seemed to work fine for NI:

I would agree that this is confusing if they were meant to be left and right buttons. But they are not, they're IN and OUT buttons, first dive into a chain with the left button, then dive out of the chain with the right button. It's just a different concept, you'll get used to it :)

Indeed. It's a similar concept to inverting the y-axis on a joystick for flight sims. Breaks your brain at 1st but you get accustomed to it fairly quickly.

Fair play - good points.

I suppose I'll get used to it.

You do have a point about this though. It's one of the 2 design decisions that made me make a quizzical Dreamworks face.

the other one is the cheapness of the touchstrip and the lack of contrast between the LED dim/brightness. It's just pony.
