Honestly their hardware is great these days, the chips do the Job. I have no complaints with the Air hardware wise. It's their software that needs a kick in the rear! Too many loose ends, plus bugs. I just got back from the relatives house, brought a bare minimum set up that included two USB3 SSD enclosures, and they will not mount with USB3 to USB-C cords. They mount just fine hooked up to a TB OWC dock with USB3 ports, but not directly. Looking online this isn't a hardware issue, people rolling back to Catalina are able to get their drives mounted on the same hardware.
Updated to the latest version (12.3) last night in hopes there was a fix, Apple changed the permissions to the framework folders and also got rid of native python in the macOS. This means that the Raven software crashes on start, since it now needs an update to circumvent these two things. Probably people using python scripts with Ableton should think about not updating either considering they will not work.
Just to top of this sordid tale on the way back I find an 8 part podcast I want to listen to while hours on the road. Apple Podcasts always wants to play episodes in reverse order, if you play the first episode it defaults to playing the last episode. Pull over find out the workaround is to set up a playlist, then you can default playback to oldest first etc. Well, that does not work, at least not on my iPhone 12.
Anyway, yeah somebody needs to either listen to QA, or start smacking QA around until they catch this stuff at that fruit company!
