yeah, could be handy for keeping things tidy. a 'disable scene trigger' option in the clip properties->trigger mode.
go stick it in 'wishlist' if you ain't already.

There is a way to kind of do this, but it doesn't invlove playing a scene as such.

What you could do is this...

If you have 5 or 6 clips in your scene, and you want only five to play at once, rather than hit the scene trigger button on the right hand side, select all the clips you want to play in the scene( ie ctrl+ select all the clips until the ones you want are all highlighted), and hit enter (ie ctrl+ select) to trigger the clips. In this way the scene plays, minus the one hit clip. You can then trigger the one hit anytime you want.

It's not as easy as just hitting a scene trigger, but seems to work for me just the same...

Hi eisnein!
I would also like to have the capacity to put a clip "offline" on a scene...
I wrote a post about it few months ago in the feat wishlist forum (post that went widely ignored ;)).

My suggestion was to have to possibility to create "offline" slots or even "offline" tracks. For me, this is useful when I am browsing samples to add in my song. I can bring, for example, 15 different samples of shakers on a track, to later on check which one fits best. At the moment, if I don't want to trigger them together with the material I already have, I must drag them BELOW (or above) my existing scenes. Which means I end up scrolling up and down between lots of scenes and its too much mousing for me... With offline track n slots, it would be some kinda compartments where you can put the samples that are "shortlisted" to fit in your final selection... I could trigger them manually, but not with the scene buttons...
Well, thats it...

Just wanted to tell that Im fully with you on this one!!!!

Cheers

Ben

Hey, I had the same exact problem and Beateater actually answered it but didn't go into detail. What you can do is set the launch option to "Gate" for the clip you don't want to launch but you have to make sure you move the contents of the clip back by a just enough to where when the whole scene is launched, it doesn't play. In essence, the clip still launches but since it's on gate mode, the content of the clip doesn't have time to play from the momentary trigger of the entire scene. Now in order to actually play that clip, you'll have to hold down the pad long enough for it to reach the starting point of the notes and keep holding it for the duration of the amount of the clip you want played. You may have to play around with the timing of when you press it if it's something that needs to be in tempo. I hope that made sense.
