hmmm.......something tells me this feature you want will not happen. I believe there are indirect ways of doing what you want to do directly , which would put this request on the bottom of my priority pile anyways. Especially if it would be a pain in the ass to code. , In the mean time , check out MAX/msp.

as someone else pointed out , use multiple instances of the same clip with varying loop points. this is one of lives major selling points. Also , maybe dedicating an audio track to resampling (monitor off) could effectually do what you want , by means of recording and launching at the appropriate times to simulate the looping of the various sequenced tracks etc. just set it recording at the point you would like the loop to start , and hit it again to play it. theres your loop..... tho , there is no room for mistake. but thats what quantization is for....

i dunno , maybe i missed your point....hope you find a satisfactory way to do what it is you want to do!

i like it when i can tailor my tools just right for my demand
you know, in a way that the default is good for everyone. but if you're using ableton for 5 years, and want the text in the gui to be one pixel smaller, or one of the icons different, or what ever other minute detail, you can do it.
this kind of configurability owns - then an app really becomes "part of you", and much more than just a tool you might just as well replace eventually... because it's as "yours" as it was before you bought it and it was default in the box...
what app allows for this kind of configurability? any in existence or development? (aside from stuff like Reaktor)
