Hi, thank you for your detailed response :)

I hadn’t thought of using the flip button to use the faders with the sends and plugins, sometimes the solution is in front of us and we don’t see it :-)

But I noticed two problems using the FLIP:

- when I use it with sends, the colors of the screens take on the colors of the tracks when I touch a fader. Afterwards they become white again.

- when I use it with plugins, it works very well but I can no longer exit plugin mode. I press track, pan or global view (i use the flip reverse mode) but nothing happens. Then I have to select another track with the mouse or another controller.

Have you ever noticed these problems?

Huh, I don't know about the second one, I'll have to check that out!

About the colors: in normal (non-flipped) Send mode, the scribble strips revert to the track colors when you touch the faders because it is assumed that you then want to control volume, so it helps to recognize your tracks. But it sounds like the same is also happening when flipped, when the faders control the sends instead of volume, so I'll have to prevent that.

Thanks for reporting, I'll try and fix those two things as soon as possible!

Okay I think I've improved handling of colors in flipped mode. I'll have to test it for a while to see if all situations are covered, but touching the faders in flipped state should no longer cause the track colors to be shown.

By the way, I assume you're using the "parameter keep" setting? It's currently the last one in the menu. By default (the legacy Mackie Control behavior), the scribble strips show whatever the encoders are controlling. So in Sends mode, when you flip the faders and encoders, they show track volume... Which is a bit silly because you probably want to use the faders to control the sends! So "parameter keep" makes sure the scribble strips show sends in Send mode, whether flipped or not. (It also has a shortcut: SHIFT + Flip button, in your case GLOBAL VIEW.)

About the loss of button control (your third question): I did some testing and I think I've encountered what you described a couple of times but the log didn't show any errors, except once. That did lead to a bug fix, so maybe it's solved now.

Anyway I've just uploaded a new beta, give it a try!

Hello everything seems to be working well, I just noticed a small bug:
From fader bank number 3, when I solo a track, it goes back to fader bank number 2.

Strange. I'm not seeing that, but maybe I'm not doing exactly what you're doing.

Do you have automatic fader bank sync enabled (settings: "sync" set to "auto" instead of "man"? When you solo a track using the mouse, that track is also selected, and with fader bank sync set to automatic, your X-Touch will change banks to follow that selection. Does that sound like what could be happening?

Ok, thanks to your response, now I understand better how the man and auto modes work.

I realize that what I was explaining in the previous message is not quite right.

I will try to better explain my situation with an example (with fader bank sync enabled) :

I am working on a piece with many tracks, I am making adjustments on track 87 which is selected and solo, and I would also like to solo tracks 5 and 8 to hear all three at the same time.

With the bank fader button, I go to the first bank and solo track 5. But the bank fader directly returns to the one from track 87 that is selected.

Then I have to do the same operation again to solo track 8. And here it’s just an example with a small number of tracks to be solo. If I had to put more, it would become a real headache.

I am a FOH sound engineer and I am used to working with digital consoles that do not have this behavior, and so I am a bit disoriented :-)

Is it possible to add a setting so that we can put one or more tracks in solo without going back to the fader bank of the selected track ?

And possibly add a function to a button so that it takes us back to the fader bank of the selected track ?

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I'll try your scenario tomorrow and see what I can do because that does sound annoying (and not the intended behavior of auto bank sync)! :D

Meanwhile, you could leave bank syncing on manual and use the button shortcuts whenever you want to sync up. They are:
- both FADER BANK buttons together to sync from X-Touch to Live
- both CHANNEL buttons together to sync from Live (selected channel) to X-Touch

But if I can find out what's going on in your situation I'll do my best to fix it!

Has anyone been able to find/order an X-Touch overlay for the modified script as provided by RobrechtV and based on the template provided by gregjar? So far I have only been able to find a generic Ableton overlay or overlays for a different DAW at Birchwood Studios.

Maybe if there is enough of us wanting this we could get some made?

Sorry, I haven't had much time to work on this lately.

With the bank fader button, I go to the first bank and solo track 5. But the bank fader directly returns to the one from track 87 that is selected.
I can confirm this unintended behavior. I'm not sure how to fix it yet, but I have some idea of why it's happening.

* When you change banks from the X-Touch with Sync set to Auto, the script makes Live's screen follow (by briefly enabling the "session box", which is the only way to influence which tracks are scrolled into view).
* However, the currently selected track (in your case track 87) is not changed, because you may be working on something in the Details pane and I don't want to interrupt that.
* When you solo a track, that track normally gets automatically selected. I remember when I was working on Global Solo, this default behavior messed something up – I don't remember what exactly – so I changed it: when you solo a track using one of the SOLO buttons on the X-Touch, Live first makes a note of which track was selected before, and then restores selection to that track after soloing track you wanted to solo.
* In your case, the track that was selected is track 87... And with Sync set to Auto, the moment the script restores selection to that track, the X-Touch banks immediately follow!

Anyway, still thinking about the best way to avoid this, but until then you could leave Sync set to Manual and use the manual sync button combinations.

I think gregjar was planning to turn the button layouts into printable overlays. I also know of one other user who is working on an overlay including the various button combinations (SHIFT etc.). I'll ask them if they'd like to post here.

I just got back into Ableton (bought Live 12) and I have a BCF-2000 is that workable with these remote scripts? Is there a current latest link?

I used to have a couple of BCF2000s but I never got into scripting for them so I don't know how their buttons are mapped. If it's set to Mackie emulation mode, some things may work, but chances are you'll run into limitations quickly because it doesn't have the X-Touch's buttons or screens.

Still, can't hurt to try! Latest version is here.

Hi, sorry for my late reply, I have been very busy lately. Thanks for the detailed answers :-)
I found a solution, I write "-NoHighlightOnSolo" in options.txt and it fixes my problem.

Ohhh... Smart! :D I'll still try and implement a solution for this specific use case (syncing set to auto and soloing a track one or more banks over from the previously selected track) but I'm glad you got it working for you already.
