any way to make this in live?

Post by Toufas » Wed Nov 02, 2005 10:04 pm

The sound that is playing in the cdj, i dont mean the effects or the scratching.
i understand that its the AAAAHHH sample from this pack but how can i chop it up in live to recreate the cdj loop?
thank you :)

It sounds to me like all eddie did was loop the sample, then chop it with the channel fader, so that should be simple to do, but recording it might be a problem.

Try playing with the clip level parameter.

if u want chopping, use an autopan.
set the wave type to SAW, the phase to 0, the rate to 1/8, 1/16, or 1/4, the amount to 100%, and invert off.

Try the volume chopping clips from the audio modulation matrix posted in this thread.

ok if its what i think youre asking its super easy

its just that classic scratch sample, which u can easily find somewhere, looped.
that's it.

he just hit loop in then loop out quickly. in ableton, get that sound in Live, and set the loop in at sample start and loop out just a bit after. experiment with the loop out until it sounds like u want.

u loop it yourself!

load into live
double click clip
turn warp button on
turn loop button on

set loop in to 1.1.1
and loop length to about 0.1.0.
